Returnal is having quite the week. Yesterday, Housemarque released a video focusing on the game's alien planet setting, and now we have a brand new gameplay breakdown.
It shows off some hectic combat, some of the game's procedurally generated elements, and some more narrative focused segments. We even get a glimpse at a mysterious part of the game featuring a house from Selene's past, which you'll be able to explore in first person.
The game releases in a couple of months on 30th April. To learn lots more about Returnal, check out our interview with the developers, and read up on our thoughts from an exclusive hands-off demo. Are you looking forward to this one? Fire away in the comments section below.

Hi there fellow gamers.
I simply cannot wait to play this game.
It looks really good and super fun.
Give it to me now, pretty please.
Cheers, stay safe ot there and happy gaming to us all
I have this pre-ordered and while I was disappointed they seated it, I’d rather they put out a stronger game. I truly can’t wait for this.
Yes.... after watching this.... I can't wait to play the game. The gameplay looks really fun and challenging.
I was waiting until tonight before committing to this game. I pre-ordered it before heading for bed. Can't wait for it now.
Man, it looks phenomenal. The color palettes with the neon and mixed with darkness, and the Bloodborne-like enemies... it just looks fantastic visually. Housemarque has always had a great art design. They’ve managed to transfer their style into a 3D realm and it looks like it’s going to work perfectly. I like what I’m seeing of the protagonist so far too. She seems very unique. The shooting and kinetic feel of the gameplay also gives me DOOM vibes, the way it says you need to stay in motion all the time. It appears to be a great looking marriage of “arcadeyness” and mature storytelling. Very excited to see the reviews.
If this gets rave reviews then I might just have to buy a PS5 from a scalper after all.
The game looks really fun, like risk of rain gameplay with pt/silent hill vibe
Looking forward to this one, if it plays as well as it looks I think we are in for a treat
I loved the new footage but still can't justify paying full price, will wait until the game is on sale for $20 in a few years or whenever it hits PS Plus, whichever comes first.
