MLB The Show 21 has been rated for release on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in Brazil, but there’s no mention of additional platforms just yet. Sony’s flagship baseball simulation had been expected to pitch to multiple platforms, but as Gematsu pointed out on Twitter, the original press release mentioned that the Sony San Diego developed title could arrive on non-PlayStation systems “as early as 2021”. With an ongoing global pandemic, the publisher may have opted to postpone until next year.
Whatever the case, the studio has promised news in February:
Ordinarily, the new MLB The Show game would be announced by now, but this has been a year like no other. Spring Training will return in late February, ahead of the new baseball season getting underway in April, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the game hits its traditional March release window. We’re just excited to see what the franchise looks like on next-gen hardware, because traditionally this has been one of the best looking series on console, and we’re expecting a gigantic jump.

Really looking forward to seeing this in motion on PS5. MLB The Show always looks and plays amazing.
I haven't played one of these games since trying out the retro mode of one of them at PSX 2016. Maybe it's time I give one of these a shot.
I'm one of the people that screams at Sony to not put their exclusives on PC or anywhere else but this is definitely an exception, this should have been multiplat from the beginning.
I do wonder if these Sony devs will be learning the Switch and Xbox or it will be ported by someone else.
The discontinuation of MLB2K and no option for a baseball sim on 360 is the original reason I made the switch back to Playstation. And this franchise has been a favorite of mine ever since. I feel like Diamond Dynasty is the most accessible option for fans that wanna rip packs but not blow tons of money.
Silly boy's rounders.
Can't wait to see it! I usually get a couple each generation. With PS5 releases being a slow trickle, will probably get this one when it isn't $70
So is this going to still be published by SIE even on Switch, Xbox and PC? If so that's probably even more shocking than stuff like Ori coming to Switch or Horizon coming to PC

I buy MLB The Show every year so I'll be getting this no matter what but my expectations for the first entry on a new-gen console are always pretty low. Graphics should be slightly better but I don't think it'll be until MLB The Show 22, or possibly 23, that we start seeing the real difference in terms of visuals and presentation. At this point, I really don't know what more can be done regarding the gameplay as baseball is baseball and that aspect of the game is already as near perfect as can be.
@TheFrenchiestFry Apparently, yes, although it's possible they may partner with a third-party to publish it.
Who chose the Acuña Jr. photo? Always a good choice.
I don't think they ever released in Europe, I've never seen one in a store.
@TheFrenchiestFry I mean, not really. Sony could've ditched the rights if they didn't want this. This is more comparable to Minecraft on other systems.
It took until May of 14 for the PS4 version to come out after the PS4 launched, a month after the PS3 version so I won’t be shocked at a delay this round.
@Octane They do get released over here, just you can only ever find them on the PlayStation Store
@IronHammersFC Do they? That's surprising since I don't believe most Brits really play baseball let alone watch it.
@InsertUsername Yeah, I've seen them on the store before, and I got the show 19 on PS Plus back in October 2019
