Koei Tecmo will celebrate the release of The Nioh Collection – which launches 5th February on the PlayStation 5, and includes Nioh 2 Remastered: The Complete Edition – with free armour sets for everyone. Make sure you have a version of the game installed between 5th February and 26th February, and you’ll pull a patch for two new outfits: the Ornate Gold Armour and the Sohaya Deserter Garb.
We reckon the outfits look pretty good. Will you be playing Nioh’s remasters on your PS5 next month, or do you plan to stick with the original PS4 versions? Select your stance in the comments section below.

I'd definitely get it again, but I don't see the physical version on Amazon UK or Gamestop IE yet.
I'm loving the new box art.
Is this franchise like the Soul's games?
Never played it. Might be cool on my PS5 with improved performance.
@ThaBEN About the same, yeah. It has stances (which I only use one). The map is not semi-open world. It's like mario levels, but it has its differences. You can use different spirits and in the second one a second form.
One day I’ll get a PS5 and play the DLC. I’m actually going hard with this over the weekend, helping a friend. One of my favourite combat systems around.
@ThaBEN Yes, this franchise is part of the "souls" genre of games. Though it does have differences, the biggest one in my opinion being the combat and overall speed. Nioh's combat is vastly superior to that of any Dark Souls, and it is also faster. Excellent games and you sould definitely give them a try if you have not.
I have Nioh 2 and loved the first one but I’m going to wait until I get a PS5 to play it. Might as well play a better version of the game if I get it for free.
Nioh 2 is a masterpiece word up son
@ThaBEN much faster combat, far more build options and generally more complicated and with more options than any souls game. It also throws randomised loot into the mix and has a LOAD of end-game content.
It’s closer to Bloodborne than Dark Souls in terms of combat.
The story is very convoluted and forgettable but the gameplay and gameplay loops and sheer amount of options make it a huge time sink. I got 600 hours out of it before I needed a break.
Should I start with Nioh 2? Or are they different enough to play through both?
@Omnistalgic The first game is a treat too play.
@Omnistalgic both separate entities
Warning to anyone with Arachnophobia, big Spiders in Nioh 1 if you're the kind who struggle to cope with your phobia.
