Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2

What on earth happened to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2? Originally scheduled to launch at the beginning of this year, developer Hardsuit Labs has pushed back its release time and time again, which in combination with high-profile departures over the past few months, has fans worried. Now Paradox Interactive CEO Ebba Ljungerud doesn't think the project will see the light of day in the next six months.

Speaking with Swedish financial site Placera and reported on by Eurogamer, Ljungerud said: "I do not think it will come in the first half of the year, but we will see." A small glimmer of hope then, but hardly much. He goes on to state that the PlayStation 5 version, the COVID-19 pandemic, and aforementioned staff exists are the reasons series supporters are still waiting for the vampiric follow-up. "To be able to develop for the next generation, you have to have development kits from the manufacturers. And I'm pretty sure that both Sony and Microsoft were affected by the pandemic because they did not have many development kits."
