Assassin's Creed Valhalla couldn't continue its stint at the top of the UK sales charts as FIFA 21 takes first place for the week ending 26th December 2020. The top 10 list of the biggest physical sellers across the United Kingdom contains the usual suspects for the past seven days, with Ubisoft's Viking RPG slipping to second while Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War takes up residency in fifth. There's no movement whatsoever for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, once again in sixth place, but CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 slips fairly significantly down to eighth. It was the third best-selling game across the UK last week.
What makes this result interesting is that the data in question covers the first full week that the controversial title was only available for PlayStation 4 physically after Sony pulled the digital version off the PlayStation Store. In the United Kingdom at least, this didn't result in an uptick in the purchase of boxed copies as sales dropped by another 57%. The game can still be bought digitally on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, however.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 26th December 2020
- FIFA 21
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
- Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Just Dance 2021
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Super Mario 3D All-Stars
- Minecraft (Switch)

I got a free copy of FIFA 21 but I’ll probably download the PS5 version.
@Total_Weirdo It's an underrated game for sure. I refunded Cyberpunk and bought Immortals in the sale. It's a great game, and it surprisingly isn't buggy.
@Total_Weirdo @Constable_What Immortals Fenyx Rising would've gotten all the spotlight and high ratings if our dear ol' Ubisoft didn't release a 100 more games before it. Their own games keep stealing shine from each other. That said, FC5 is my game of the moment right now, crazy number of hours in and can't stop.
I really hoped that AC:Valhallas price would significally drop after Cyberpunks release, but since no one wants to buy Cyberpunk right now I guess many people will just buy AC instead of CP2077 so there is no need for a price drop
Played 7 hours of Cyberpunk on my PS5 yesterday with the latest patch. Only crashed twice, which is better than the hourly crashes I used to have.
@Total_Weirdo that’s strange despite the fact that the game is heavily discounted on both Xbox & PS platforms.
AC: Valhalla is killing it. It really is the holiday game to play (At 89hrs)
Valhalla, Ghost of Tsushima and Cyberpunk 2077. Really good times for open world games. Also Really hope SackBoy hit expectations. Great platforming fun!
@Total_Weirdo Ubisoft shouldn't release this new open world ip next to their old best selling open world ip, if they move fenyx to more "empty" month like february or march I think the game will sells better. Capcom usually release games that months and it still sells good.
@Agramonte If ps3 gen is first person military gen, I think ps4 gen can be summed up as open world gen. I wonder what ps5 gen will be, can't wait for it 😃
I'm waiting for my refund.....
@wiiware There are so many PS4 games still slated for release that the PS5 gen will be the cross-gen gen!
@nessisonett I think in 2021 and 2022 there will be a lot of cross-gen games (with the exception of 1st party exclusive), then on 2023 we'll start to see true next-gen 3rd party games.
Indie games will still be released on ps4 though since most of them didn't need full ps5 power.
Amazing. People criticize Cyberpunk 2077, but every single year they buy FIFA....
Cyberpunk doesn’t have mainstream appeal, people that wanna buy it have bought it already, it’s like Doom Eternal
AH Fifa, yes can't understand the love for the game but then again I'm not a football (soccer) fan at the best of times anyways
@wiiware Immortals got delayed, it was supposed to be released in the beginning of 2020. It really got overshadowed by its big brother.
@wiiware PS5 will be the service game trend.
@KevinDS88 eh? It's sold over 13 million copies and has only been out a few weeks!
And lots of people are putting off buying it until they have a PS5.
What are you waffling on about?!
@Dr_ENT That's a shame, but ubi shouldn't release fenyx near new assassin creed, new cod, and cyberpunk 2077.
@Orpheus79V We already have service game this gen (from gran turismo sport to single player game like ac odyssey have it), this is an old trend.
Sliderpunk 2077
I don't mind though, I still think it's a flawed masterpiece. Sometimes swings from one to the other within the same mission depending on where the bugs are, if any.
🎢 (this emoji may mean more from those who really went to town/City on the side quests not just a chart position mention)
Nice to see the usual cookie-cutter FIFA and CoD propping up the charts with the usual MK8D, a game I still like but isn't significantly different from the Wii U version 6 ½ years ago 😂
People who buy FIFA should be made to ring a bell as they walk
FIFA? are you serious? ewwww….. to each his own
