The PlayStation Blog's Game of the Year vote is underway, allowing users to show their support for a whole host of PlayStation titles. For the most part, the nominees are rather predictable; The Last of Us: Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, and a bunch of PS5 games like Astro's Playroom and Demon's Souls lead the charge.
But it's the poll for 'Most Anticipated Game' that's catching people's attention. Why? Well, one of the listed nominees is The Elder Scrolls VI — the next instalment in Bethesda's beloved RPG series. Of course, the elephant in the room here is the fact that Microsoft is set to purchase Bethesda along with its parent company ZeniMax, which has led to many a discussion about games like The Elder Scrolls VI being potential Xbox and PC exclusives. Yet here it is, featured in an official PlayStation poll.
Honestly, we wouldn't get hung up on the fact that it's there. The Elder Scrolls VI is probably still years away from release, and right now, we know almost nothing about it. We also doubt that Microsoft has finalised any of its plans for the title at this early stage.
Until someone at Microsoft or Bethesda comes out and tells us that The Elder Scrolls VI is going to be kept off PlayStation consoles, then we're afraid to say that this story is just going to rumble on and on and on.

Siri, remind me in 5 years.
@nessisonett Siri, make it 10. Also, Siri, play 'Little Lies' by Fleetwood Mac.
How deep does this rabbit hole go? Next time, on the Push Square podcast. From This American Life.
Anticipating this coming to the ps6 in 2030 while maintaining the fidelity of a ps3 game.
With proof of how good a Bethesda-like game can be when Bethesda isn't making it (The Outer Worlds) and the dumpster fire that is Fallout 76 (and their responses each step of the way) I don't have any desire to play another title made by Bethesda. I DO have the desire to play an ES-like game though...so someone...please make a good one for the new generation of consoles!
Might just be me but I really just don't care.
It will be a bit ridden mess as usual but it will be called a feature and will be using a decade old engine
i'm calling it will be a timed exclusive to xbox and pc,and release a year later on ps5. would be funny if the ps5 then got the "goty" edition with all dlc for the price of the base game
It seems like PlayStation IS giving us answers. It is anticipating that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be on PS5.
@Jayslow it'll probably be more mindless in game play than fallout 4.
Cross gen on PS6 let's gooooo
I know these make for good clickbait, but as Microsoft have said, they have no say in the matter until at LEAST late 2021 when the deal actually finalises. Despite what Phil Spencer and the board can theorise based on likely plans.
Elder Scrolls 6? We've got at least five more re-releases of Skyrim to look forward to before we worry about that
Still early days yet
If it’s not on a brand new spanking game engine, I won’t bat an eye at it
The next game in the “here, you guys fix it” series!
Thats a really funny way of spelling Elden Ring :3
I doubt we will ever see it on PS5.
Why would Microsoft spend 7.5 billion dollars to release Bethesda’s biggest series on its main competitor?
It doesn’t make sense.
LOL everyone thinking it will release on PS6.
It will release on PS6, PS7, PS8, and remastered on PS9.
This is like the stuck up girl at school talking about how she's exclusive to certain groups while you listen and don't care.
The jokes here are wonderful well done
I don't know why Bethesda are given so much credit, they haven't made a truly great game for going on ten years now.
This will they won't they thing is tiring and exactly what Microsoft want.
@TheRedComet I think you are right. Bethesda will be Xbox platforms only. Elder Scrolls is a big system seller, so is Fallout. Then Doom is a big game arguably a system seller for 40 odd year olds. There's no way they will cross platform those 3.
I know everyone looks at Minecraft but Minecraft was already on loads of platforms before Microsoft bought it. Where's Forza, Halo, Gears and Fable?
When Sony are locking down 2 year exclusivity deals, you can be damn sure that MS will be keeping all their stuff off Sony machines for years too. They simply don't need the money.
I think it depends on how well xbox does. If xbox sales are low like 8th gen then Ms will allow their newly owned IP's on Ps5.
@thedevilsjester I've said for a while, Sony have the IP for EverQuest but that seems to have disappeared off their radar, even if it was originally pencilled in for Project Orbis (PS4)
@TVRFLY Same feeling here - if the PS5 totally outguns the XSX like this gen, Microsoft will eventually (and begrudgingly) let the games get ported. If we have a 360/PS3 style generation though, I think it'll be bye-bye Bethesda.
Oddly enough though, Elder Scrolls Online is still being developed and expanded for all the current platforms, including the PS4 and with no sign of stopping.
While I do hope for a PS4 version, things must eventually move on. While I don’t have a PS5 yet (waiting till I can just go into Target and roll on home with it) I’m hoping sooner than later.
Ever since Fallout 76 I've had a bad feeling about Elder Scrolls 6, I'm dreading that they're going to try and incorporate the unnecessary online portion of Fallout 76 & Elder Scrolls Online. Skyrim was a great SINGLE PLAYER game, don't try and make it into something it's not, we saw how well that worked out for Fallout 76, and Elder Scrolls Online was just... meh.
Well industry rumours were Sony had secured 4 timed exclusive deals from the ZeniMax / Bethesda Group. We know about Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo. The rest is speculation and hearsay I guess, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Microsoft might be in a position if publishing timed exclusives on PlsyStation.
@JustPlainLoco
Weirdly enough, I do think it could be done. Just not like 76 or Online.
No persistent online game. Allow up to four friends who each independently own the game the visit one player’s game world.
Basically Diablo III’s style of multiplayer. I think that could work quite well.
Series XXX console exclusive 2032
@sanderson72 I’m pretty sure Sony sold the IP, and they just released an expansion for Everquest this month. I’m shocked it’s still around!
@TG16_IS_BAE Well, that's a shame. And here I was hoping for a Champions of Norrath remake!
@sanderson72 I mean it’s still being actively developed for, hopefully they make that!
My prediction: it will be on all platforms eventually.
But it will only be 'free' on GamePass, Bethesda still needs to earn...
