Sackboy A Big Adventure PS5 PS4

When Sackboy: A Big Adventure launches across both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 next week, you will only be able to play with friends in local co-op. Sumo Digital has made the decision to delay online multiplayer functionality, with it instead arriving via a free patch before the end of this year. The same can be said of save transfers from PS4 to PS5 — this functionality won't be available at release.

In a quick PlayStation Blog post, design director Ned Waterhouse said: "The team have been working hard to ensure that online is the very best experience it can be for players and we just need a little more time to get it right so you can enjoy it to the fullest with your friends and family."

You can still play the game with up to three other people in a local co-op setting, but doing so online will have to wait. This also means that if you start playing Sackboy: A Big Adventure on PS4 and then upgrade to the PS5 before this patch arrives, you will have to start the game over again or simply wait.
