Remember when the DualSense controller for PlayStation 5 was revealed? Everyone was so shocked to see its two-tone colour scheme after years of black DualShocks. As it turns out, the PS5 itself echoes the mostly-white design, but of course, not everyone loves the look. In fact, some would much prefer alternate colour options for their DualSense controllers.
If you've been hoping for a black DualSense, or some other colour, don't worry — Sony's well aware of demand for this. In a huge PS5 FAQ, the platform holder says that black DualSense controllers and other colours will become available "in the future". It doesn't have any announcements on that front just yet, though.
So, there you go. You'll have to put up with your white DualSense pad for the time being, but it sounds like more colours will come along soon enough. It's pretty standard practice for Sony to release different coloured controllers down the line, so we're sure you won't be short of options.

I would have preferred different colour options at launch as the I don't like the white, but I'm not forking out extra dosh for a different colour later, no sirree!
Red Ps5 will be amazing.and a gold one also.i always buy at least 4 controllers for my PlayStation console.i got 4 ps4 controller now.so its all gravy paya.word up son
I think the launch colors are all white.
Im just waiting for the inevitable £40-£50 side plates to drop for the console.
I really dislike owning multiple controllers that are exactly the same, so I'm holding out for new colors before I buy a second one. Unfortunately, I also like to keep one controller charging/charged while I use the other, so it looks like I'll be unable to do that for a while. Kinda lame on Sony's part - MS has several colors available right off the bat in addition to allowing previous gen controller compatibility. Nintendo also had multiple colored joy-con available immediately. Oh well..
I bought an extra controller already, couldn’t wait to get my hands on DualSense!! Won’t be picking up another anytime soon but more customization the better..
absolutely i am holding out on getting a ps5 until it is more aethetically pleasing. a simple matt black should do the trick. now, as for the hulking size... that is another issue. hopefully it will shrink down to some degree with the ps5 slim in 2-3 years time.
Well, this was expected.
But I'm more concerned about second batch of PS5 digital, as pre-orders in my country were closed the same day they opened due to shortage of units

I don’t like controllers being the same.
I’ve had 4 though now has 3 dualshocks:
Black (broken)
Urban Camo
Red
White (with my Pro)
White is always my choice.
They're going to try and sell as many white ones at first as they possibly can, knowing most people want more than one controller, and will buy what's available. Then later, they'll release the other ones, and people will buy a third or fourth in the color that they actually prefer, regardless of whether they need more than two.
The big question for me is whether the overall quality of the later controllers will suffer, as it did with the PS3 and PS4. In both cases, I still have the originals that I bought with the system when it came out, but others purchased since then have broken or worn out and can't be repaired.
I'll buy the black version for backup controller, I prefer the ds4 psone colour version though.
Reading between the lines do you think this means there’ll be a black console too?
And again we hear "in the future". M.2 slot will be enabled in the future, storing PS5 games on external HDD will be in the future.
The more details we hear, the more PS5 seems like a very rushed, if not unfinished, product.
@Dodoo I'd guess that there eventually will be. They know that there's a demand for one. No idea on the time frame.
Well I have ordered 3 pads already so I am ok. But if they bought out a cool dark blue one or a blue transparent one then I would get another one The PS2 pad in dark blue transparent was AMAZING back in the day
I think i might sticker bomb my ps5 like I did the guitar I built.
I would love to see the crystal red and the 20th anniversary edition (I know its Dualshock 4 but I would love to see a DualSense version of the 20th anniversary controller). More exited about the crystal red tho as it is my all time favorite color scheme for the DualShock 4
