Poll: Which Peter Parker Face Do You Prefer in Marvel's Spider-Man?

I like the new Peter, but think he looks too young.

The game skipped the origin story so he should look older, if it started in his high school years then the remake would look passable. #NotMyPete

The newer version is more accurate to what Peter Parker is although if the game is set in his 20's he should look a bit older.

I think o actually prefer the original. The new one looks like its trying too hard to channel Tom Holland.
Not a major issue, just an observation.

Twenty-three year old dudes generally still look like babies. With that in mind, I like the new one.

This is the equivalent of those abysmal colourisations of classic B&W Films. Yes the new face will look more realistic with better animations, but the memories attached to the original face make this feel weird.
Same reason I still prefer the Theatrical Cut of Star Wars to the 90's new versions. I look forward to the PS8 version where insomniac have plastered a 7th different face onto the character.

Original was forgettable, but was its own thing.

The new one, for me, seems like they tried to get a Holland look-a-like that gives it that same cheap knockoff feel the Avengers game projects... So... A step back.

Also, he looks too young. In this game, Peter has been around for a long time. He already has been on-and-of with MJ, it's just not meant to be the super young Peter.

New Pete looks like a 26 year old man with the head of a 19 year old teenager. I understand that even past the age of 20 teenagers tend to carry a bit of that complexion with them but he should probably look a bit more adult than that.

They really couldn't just clean up the old face to make it more expressive?

Just bizarre that they changed him, unless there's some kind of contract issue. It makes MJ and Felicia look a fair bit older than him. I know they've already said otherwise, but maybe this "new" Peter Parker is going to be the face we get in Avengers.

Any time a face is changed it just looks odd at first. It will take time but I am sure after playing for a bit I will accept the new face.

I hate the new one. He looks way too young for the big brother/mentor figure dynamic he has with Miles to be convincing. The old model was waaaaay better.

Don’t particularly see the need to change the face but all the folks saying he looks to young do know he was a kid in the comics don’t they? If anything the younger look is more true to the original character.

The new face looks better graphically, but I’ve already played 40 hours as the old Peter, so the new one just looks wrong.

Also the new Peter looks like a 16 year old with no expressions. (Although there isn’t much to go on in this scene)

Literally 90% of his story arc is developed as a college student or full functioning adult. He wasn't 15 for that long in the source material. That's just a time period the movies really love to focus on for some reason.

Why does he look so young? It looks good, but as a design it looks weirdly young. It's a weird tradeoff. New face looks better in terms of graphics, but not design. I haven't even played the game, but it still strikes me this way.

@Jaz007 agreed. he looks 14. perhaps they were going for the holland look here to add some sense of cohesiveness to the property, inlcuding the films.

@TheFrenchiestFry true but he was always portrayed as fresh out of high school for some time. Suppose the issue with the game will arise if he looks to young compared to every other character around him.

Whoever prefers the remaster version, I hope you stub your toe.

@JJ2 agree 100% mate, watching the trailer I think the animations look lots better not that I had a problem with the original but I can see a definite improvement.

New pete is poor man's Tom Holland..the original face looks better as the story is pete already been spider-man for 8 years so he should look older.

i think the real reason is they want to better aligned the similarity with tom holland between game universe and mcu w/o actually paid Tom more for face capture lol

The remastered is clearly made to look more like Tom Holand. The original is just a generic looks like nobody model.

I prefer the remastered one. Interestingly the original had a touch of toby maguire to it, wheras the new one has a touch of Tom Holland to it! I wonder if thats intentional given Tom plays Spidey and Nathan Drake

@Medic_Alert A 23 year old often doesn't look like that, and one that has a finely developed body that's muscular due to his powers isn't gonna look like that for sure.

One has light on the side while the other is in almost full light, they look similar, but the eyes look a bit darker on the old model, I’ll have to wait and see it in action to really have an opinion.

Why remake the whole character's look? Original one looks by miles better in my opinion , as it just looks more like Peter Parker to me.

Original, the new face looks too young, it will be awkward seeing new pete mentoring miles since he looks younger than miles.

New Peter looks like an awkward 10th grader....why....why have they done this? I was tempted to pay up the $20 for the remaster, slightly...but.....SpiderTween isn't doing it for me. It gives me images of Mark Zuckerberg in Spandex. I am not down with that.

Remastered is much more spider-man in my mind. The original just didn’t look nerdy enough. Too “manly”

Vastly prefer original Peter. For me Tom Holland has the most punchable face in Hollywood.

I’ve ALWAYS thought the original looked really weird. He looked way too old, his ears made him look like a chimpanzee, and his eyes were too big it didn’t look right. I like the new version better alright he might be a LITTLE too young

I actually didn't like the original when I first saw it. It was an odd face. But after you spend hours associating that version of Spider-man with that face, it grows on you.

Rather than being a bland likeness (hello Avengers), it was his face. It was kinda nice to have a normal looking person in the main role.

Side note: I've been replaying Dead Space, and I remember having the same reaction to Issac Clarke.

I never liked the original Peter, personally. I don't like the poofy hair look, and he looks like he's perpetually constipated or something. Just a weird mannequin look to his face.

They should have changed his skin colour to green or blue so people would have an actual reason to lose their sh*t.

Square did it with the tomb raider remaster. It took me a while to get used to it, but in the end it looked good. People who played the original are obviously not the targets for the remaster

Why is everybody saying that he looks like a teenager? The old model looks older, yes, but the new one looks perfectly like a man in his early twenties... Nothing weird in how he looks.

I’m down. It’s a weird change, but insomniac has really impressed me in recent years so I’ll trust them. It really seems like they’ve put in some work for this remaster. I understand why it’s not a free upgrade

I want to see the tech where I can use the PS5 camera to photo MY face, and then use that as an option in all the games as the main hero (yes I know the tech limitations of mocapping at home, but I'm sure some smart AI chappy could do a half decent job for fun).
Now that would be real next gen!

I remember when it was announced that FF7R would have an all new voice cast and a lot of OG fans were up in arms about it, came onto every thread on Twitter moaning and at the time I was 'Hey, what's the issue? I love the new voices, they fit well. It's gonna be great' but my first visceral reaction to this re-cast is NOOOO!! I absolutely hate it and don't see the point. I guess I can see where those FF fans were coming from now? lol Still prefer older Peter.

The Remastered Peter Parker is a lot more adorable but the original Peter Parker matches this iteration of him much more as he is supposed to be older here.

I am not saying she isn't pretty.. but she is FRIGGIN MJ for christs sake, she is supposed to look better than that! and the butt problem is just bad development, it just looks funky.. the actual shape lol
