Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Coming to Both PS5 and PS4, Original Game Getting PS5 Remaster

Excellent! Won’t be picking up a PS5 until there’s a redesign, so nice to know I can play more Spider-Man.

Well I didn't see that coming, but hey, I'm not complaining.

Sony's full of crazy people offering PS4 games with a free PS5 update at $50. There's GOT to be a catch... But if not, I won't look a gift spider in the mouth. I'm ready for Miles!

It actually makes me feel better about Sony though. I didn't like them withholding ps4 content to push hardware. Looks like they're not. That's a win. But it makes the fans look silly for the past 2 months!

There's no "free upgrade" generally for those who already own it on PS4??

@Perryg92 Considering Sony spent the last 3 months letting us think this was a next Gen only game I wouldn't focus too much on what is or isn't possible yet with the first game. It's possible the "upgrade" is free for people who own the 1st game on PS4 but you can't "buy" this version yet on PS5.

Sony is going to be so tripping all over themselves with this one, nothing is set in stone until it is. And not even then.

Finding out this and Horizon 2 is on Ps4 has made delaying getting a ps5 much easier.

The first PS5 only game might be GOW Ragnarok but thats probably Holiday 2021 at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Halo Infinite has been delayed to look more next-gen and the other Microsoft's big games are Series-exclusive now so they both changed their plans.

If I own Spiderman and all it's DLC's on PS4, will I get a free upgrade to PS5. They are so slow to release this kind of information, it's not that hard. Just a yes or no.

Meaning GTA V was the "this gen" portion of the show, and Spider-man was the "next gen" portion of the show. So he wasn't technically lying about GTAV leading, but that means he was lying about Spiderman being the "next gen portion" of the show since it is also on this gen. He can't have it both ways though.

This guy really needs to go. He and Kodera have been a Mattrick level blunder-factory from the moment they stepped in. Kutagari is a legend, but he blew it with PS3. Hirai rebuilt it better than ever, House kept the momentum going, and then the comedy duo of Kodera and Ryan stepped in and decided the best model for Playstation is Activision and Mattrick's Microsoft. I feel like at any minute he'll tell us about the always on DRM and the mandatory camera... Every single time he speaks I like PS a little bit less.

@BlueOcean Oh the memes really must flow. The funny thing is it's the insane PS fans, not Sony itself that really built that meme. Sony set them up for it with the June trailer but they never explicitly said it's PS5-exclusive. And they were cagey afterward about it "being a stand alone expansion." They clearly wanted to give the impression it was exclusive, the same way they wanted to give the impression FFXVI is a permanent exclusive, but they never said it. It was the fandom that spent 3 months inventing a myriad of reasons as to why it needed PS5 and how the game was so clearly next gen from the ground up.

Kind of hilarious, but also disturbing how easy it is for someone popular/powerful (in this case, Playstation as an organization) to simply plant a suggestion in the minds of people that want to believe it, without saying it, and those people create a new truth and spread its gospel around their own fill-in-the-blanks reasoning, to defend that idea against those that say otherwise. When in reality the ones saying otherwise were accurate from the start, and the original suggester never said otherwise. Not that 10,000 years of human history hasn't shown that on a deadly scale over and over...but it's a bit traumatic to watch it unfold in real time.

I don't know about you but all my replies tend to lean toward politics the longer they are, it's so overwhelming in everything these days.

Good call on Sony not really saying these games were PS5 exclusives and just letting the fans run with it - without correcting them - but I do feel like somebody at Sony was promoting the "we know how to do generations" insult aimed at MS, even if they never said it was aimed at MS.

Dont' think R&C will rleease on PS4 - those guys are busy enough trying to release everything else - but I'm genuinely cuirous about GoW 2. That game looked so good on PS4, and it was basically a walkign simulator broken up by fights, it' sno warp drive R&C, so I don't know what they need on PS5, at 1080p, that PS4 can't provide.

If they built a new game engine that only does 4k well ok then, but that's on them, first game was only the first part of the story, 2nd part should have gone into production ASAP after the first game. 1 of the reasons I never got FF7R on PS4, part 2 will be on PS5 and part 3 on PS6, if Squenix doesn't go bankrupt first. Or MS buys them and makes part 3 an Xbox and PC exclusive. 🤣
