Capcom has released a stunning Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition trailer that showcases how the game is taking advantage of next-gen hardware. For starters, ray-tracing gives the release some amazing looking lighting effects. With ray-tracing enabled, you can opt for either 4K at 30 frames-per-second, or 1080p at 60 frames-per-second. Needless to say, it's demanding.
But again, Devil May Cry 5 already looks really, really good on PS4 — so this re-release is going to be drop-dead gorgeous on PS5.

And people were doubting the PS5's ray tracing capabilities, bring on November
I wonder if Lady's and Trish's bum will be uncensored worldwide in this version. While i'm not bothered either way it was strange Sony forced this on the game when both are very much adults and the fact its only a bare bum. Thinking way too much about this but after seeing that sex scene in TLoUP2 i just find it puzzling in what Sony allow and don't allow now.
As for the ray tracing yeah it looks stunning, can't wait to play this when ever i get a PS5.
@WallyWest
Which is why Sony's policy is beyond ridiculous. Somehow the sex scene in TLoU 2 is considered 'sexuality done right' but a few seconds of female backside in a scene that isn't even suggestive, is problematic.
@WallyWest Sony's policy is ridiculous. Double standards at its finest.
$40 apparently 🤔
Hmm, well I'm glad I didn't pick this up on ps4, I will get the ps5 version, is there any extra content apart from better graphics?
Able to play as additional characters would be a atart
.. it's a shame the game wasn't that good... the last third (half?) of the game was running down endless slimy corridors over and over (just using different characters) - started well, but become a repetitive slog by the end... wasn't a patch on the reboot (controversial!)
Man, looking around the internet, PC-only gamers are getting really salty over this not coming to PC. The base game is getting review bombed on Steam too.
I hope the owners of original game can at least pay for an upgrade rather than buy it at full $40 price.
@LemonHaze The option are: 4K & 120 fps without RT, 4K & 30 fps with RT, or 1080p & 60 fps with RT.
@WallyWest They uncensored it in the west though?
@Matroska Lol yeah they are review bombing it.
Looks amazing. I will not play it again, but great for things to come from Capom.
I wish there was a free upgrade for this or at least buying it for a low low price...
@OneManDroid - Totally agree. I'm a huge fan of the series as you can see by my profile pic but man, DMC5 was a massive disappointment. I'll take DmC over this game any day of the week!
1080p, 60fps with raytracing on, looks like my prefered setup. I just need to get my hands on a ps5 now.
Damn! that's gorgeous.
So what happens if you have a 4K TV and decide to stick with 1080p 60FPS with ray-tracing? Is the game gonna look worst because of the 4K TV?
@carlos82 If anything this makes me doubt it's raytracing capabilities even more. They had to drop the game all the way to 30 fps to add it. That's pretty bad.
@lorywindrunner to enable ray tracing there will always be a compromise regardless of what hardware you're using, whether it be resolution or framerate. For a game such as this even if it could run around 50fps its better to lock it to 30fps for a smoother experience
@RenanKJ it'll look fine, the signal will still be 4K so the TV won't be upscaling it
@carlos82 I know. The compromise is more than expected which leads me to believe raytracing on the RDNA2 gpu is not very good. Having to drop all the way to 30 fps with raytracing is surprising considering it runs at 4k 60 even on the XB1X which is half as powerful as the PS5/XBSX.
