For whatever reason, Sony decided not to show Destruction AllStars and Returnal during its PS5 Showcase Event overnight – despite the former being a launch game. However, if you had eagle eyes, you may have noticed a few seconds of gameplay from both games during the closing sizzle reel for last night’s livestream. Check out the video above and see if you can spot them.
Presumably we’ll be learning a lot more about Destruction AllStars in the near future, because it is being billed as one of the PlayStation 5’s flagship first-party launch games. Are you looking forward to either of these titles, or are you still waiting for additional information? Blow up the comments section below.

Returnal looks interesting, but I still don't know how to feel about Destruction All-stars, as while it doesn't look bad, I dont know if many are willing to pay $70 on that.
@HotGoomba My thoughts exactly. Though I'd happily pay $70 if it was a new Twisted Metal.
I'm getting strong SSX Tricky meets Twisted Metal vibes from Destruction All Stars - which frankly I would love. I also think that there are a ton of potential reasons I can think of for not having more details on it - though I'd love to see more about it: 1. It's garbage and they are trying to hide it. 2. It's amazing and they are waiting to drop it on us. 3. ... ? Also, I'm wondering ... would they price it at $70 if they thought it was garbage?
what was the anime style game at 40secs
I can’t wait for Returnal. Housemarque mixed with sci-fi and procedurally generated environments each run and it looks incredible.
@masofdas Scarlet Nexus? I think not sure
Aways thought destruction allstars would be a free 2 play game.
Not gonna pay 80 bucks for that game.
At least we got to see Fortnite. Who wants to see Sackboy and Destruction AS anyway?
I like the look of Destruction All-Stars, but if its online multiplayer relies on busy lobbies then its high price might be a problem (thinking back to RIGS...).
Maybe they'll do a demo or limited F2P mode to hook people? Or maybe it's a sleeper hit in the making? Not long to wait to find out...
@Enuo Me Too! We need a new Twisted Metal.
I really enjoyed the State of Play episodes they did for Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us 2. I think it would be really fun to have one of those every week for each launch game.
@get2sammyb
That is an awesome idea. They could focus on each of the launch games, the UI, 3d sound, etc.
Bet they don't do it!
@NotSmartEnough It'd make sense, wouldn't it? Could really dig into the features/games, building up right the way through to launch day.
I mirror the thoughts of many. $70 for a game that most thought it was free to play. It's that fortnite art style that dooms these games. Reminds me of Rocket Arena. Expect a deep sale a week after launch
@Ben8371 didn't look quite right, thought it might have been Genshin Impact but don't know about a PS5 version
I would have assumed Destruction Allstars was just modern Destruction Derby without the rights for the name?
Very much looking forward to Returnal. Couldn't care less about Destruction Allstars.
@get2sammyb Hi there friend of the staff. I agree with you. Sony should really make the States of Play like once a month or at least once every two months.
Some could be dedicated to certain games, others to specific features of the new system or something like that.
We´ll see if they become more oppened to this idea or not.
Cheers, stay safe everyone and happy gaming to us all
At £70 some games are going to bomb hard. Taking a punt at a game like Destruction All-stars just isn't going to happen at that price. Even Returnal, a game I would have bought for £40-50 on my new ps5, will fail if they try and charge that much. There are maybe 3 or 4 dev teams or directors where I'd consider paying £70 for their games. Not even God of War or Horizon would get me to pay that much.
@Old-Red
What dev. teams? For me, only CD Project Red and Bethesda (Single Player Only) could command that kind of cash.
@LordSteev From Software, Nintendo, Rockstar and CD Projekt Red. You always know you'll get your monies worth and the games they make are high quality.
@Ben8371 @masofdas I don't know what else it could be either than Scarlet Nexus?
Maybe Tales of Arise?
@Old-Red
Oops, forgot about Rockstar...I remember a time I'd add Bioware to that equation, but alas, that was long ago.
