The Procession of Calvary is what you'd call a, er, unique project. Created by UK developer Joe Richardson, it combines Renaissance art with classical music and Monty Python-esque humour. The result is a potentially hilarious little point and click puzzler. Going by the above announcement trailer, this is one to keep an eye on.

"The Procession to Calvary is an adventure game composed entirely from Renaissance art. It features beautiful artwork, classical music and irreverent humour, and it strives to be intelligent and ridiculous in equal measure," Richardson writes on the PlayStation Blog.

He continues: "In The Procession to Calvary you will point-and-click your way through a self-appointed mission to track down the tyrant Heavenly Peter. On your journey you will encounter a bizarre cast of characters, including a woefully depressed composer, a cave full of mischievous daemons, and an incompetent street magician bearing a striking resemblance to the son of God." Honestly, we're already sold.

Brilliantly, if you don't fancy solving a puzzle, you can simply murder people to progress. However, butchering the inhabitants of this weird world will apparently have consequences.

What do you make of The Procession to Calvary? It's set to launch on PS4 "in the coming months".
