Battle royale phenomenon Fall Guys has today received its first major update. The patch, which brings the game to version 1.05, is available to download now on PlayStation 4. As was announced recently, this update includes a new round among lots of bug fixes.
The new round is called Jump Showdown, and it's a final round version of Jump Club. As with that minigame, you need to hop over the lower of the sweepers as they come around, but the twist with Jump Showdown is that floor segments gradually fall away. It should add a touch of variety to proceedings.
Here are the rest of the patch notes, which include fixes for some nasty issues:
- Lowered the weighting for Royal Fumble to add more final round variation
- Fixed crash at launch with certain regional calendars set in the operating system
- Improved messaging for matchmaking and server errors
- Fixed physics behaving erratically at high framerate on levels like Tip Toe
- Fixed crown in Fall Mountain not being grabbable in rare situations
- Addressed some collisions in Block Party allowing players to bypass the blocks
- Fixed Parties sometimes failing due to too many requests
- Addressed some special characters causing display issues in player names
- Fixed Big Tease Achievement not unlocking in specific regions
We've experienced a couple of these ourselves, so this patch comes as a bit of a relief. The update weighs in at just 260MB, so it won't take you long to install and get back into the action.

I've spent a good few hours on the game and loved it. That said it's getting very repetitive now, half the game is spent with the controller put down waiting for the round to finish. Then I just either lose in a team game or challenge for the crown at the end. A new round or two isn't enough to keep my appeal going. I wouldn't be surprised if this game is forgotten about in a month. Once you get good at it, the lasting appeal just isn't there other than to earn crowns for the sake of it
@pip_muzz don’t get me started on the team games. If the dropped them all I’d be more inclined to play it
@brewersteve I didnt mind at first as it levelled the playing field... But for repeat play it's just not feasible. Feels like I'm just grinding 15mins every time for a shot at a crown or I lose with the team dice and my team suck. I am trying to win every race event by coming first to maintain my interest but the depth just isn't there.
I've had a lot of fun with it and don't regret playing it but I'll probably leave it for a few months now and see if anything meaningful happens to it in the meantime.
@pip_muzz
I detest team games with a vengeance! Why must we team up for some matches but its every man for himself in others?
Rather give us playlists: Team / Individual.
I can't count how many times my teammates would literally stand there and do nothing because they expect me and others to grab tails or push balls.
Infuriating
@Netret0120 i even tried to carry a crap team by offering my tail to my own guys who don't have one... But it's just not fun. And the fun rounds are over so quickly... Survival is no longer difficult... The final round can be tough depending on the opposition but that alone isn't enough to keep me playing.
Anyone know what happens when you reach lvl 40. Can you still play and earn fame?
You still can't invert the camera y-axis?
Ive had a lot of fun controller swapping with my mrs on this but it really needs local multiplayer too. I would also say I’m sceptical about the longevity of the game as early rounds are already starting to feel very repetitive.
@JohnKarnes given there are trophies named “reached level 25 in a season” I’m guessing that level resets relatively frequently?
