Update: PlayStation Access has now removed any mention of Crysis Remastered from the YouTube video mentioned in this article yesterday. That either means it was simply a mistake or the game is indeed shadow dropping on Friday and the team is trying to cover their tracks to make it a bit more of a surprise. We'll find out in the next couple of days.
Original story: Whoops, looks like someone at PlayStation Access let the cat out of the bag slightly too early. The team has published a video detailing PlayStation 4 releases for the coming week that includes Crysis Remastered alongside a release date of Friday 21st August 2020. This is about as close to confirmation as you can get outside of Sony's social media accounts saying it themselves.
The remaster has had a bit of a weird journey to the PS4 launch following a delay the day before gameplay was supposed to be revealed. People didn't take too kindly to a leak and so Crytek pushed the game back on PS4. Now, it looks like it's ready for a proper launch.

Did it ever have a solid release date? Is it possible that this was the originally planned date they delayed from?
Well, Is it actually "remastered" or the one the Switch ended up getting.
@Gatatog It had a release date leaked for July, but a PS4 launch in August hasn't been mentioned before this.
@Agramonte It'll be the remastered version with lower settings, unlike the abomination that is the Switch version. How that quality is overall however, is a different story.
Especially since there are mods for the original PC version that look better than the remaster.
I'm probably not going to get it.
Something tells me it can't actually be that different after just a few weeks work, I'll wait for reviews
@Menchi Yeah, if they were doing this they had to go all out. Especially on PC. A 4K texture pack and 6 core CPU compatibility patch is not going to cut it.

If this is the same as the recent switch port it'll still be missing the flying level that was also absent from the previous PS3/x360 Port. So for those on the fence could be good to know.

Wait for all of the ps4 pros to actually take off from wherever they reside coz they will not be able to handle the game in the console.
It's time to admit crysis looks dated in 2020, crysis 2 and 3 on the other hand still hold up on a good PC. I was hoping for a crysis trilogy at 60fps 1080p on ps4, with a full blown open world next gen crysis 4 on ps5, it's time for a comeback me thinks

Odd time to release a crisis remaster when the PS5 is less than 4 months away... i mean, unless they're planning a "port" or alredy have plans to release a PS5 version. Hopefully they don't pull a scummy move and make you pay 3 times for the game, technically speaking.
Wait for a price drop .spending money like it’s water with all the games coming in the next couple a months .
September 18th is the release date.
