Samurai Shodown's Next DLC Character Is Free

Gongsun Li, apparently

The next DLC character for Samurai Shodown has been announced, and frankly, we don't have a clue who she is. The umbrella-wielding warrior is apparently named Gongsun Li, and she's fresh out of Chinese mobile title Honor of Kings. Fair enough.

The good news is that you don't really have to know what Gongsun Li's about because she's being released for the low, low price of nothing. She'll be available to download for free from the 5th August.

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, he's played 'em all — a little too much, some might say.

Apparently, she's from a Tencent china-only moba game called Honor of Kings, who later received an international version known as Arena of Valor.

Kinda strange that they chose an HoK character and not one from AoV since the latter is more popular. I guess Gongsun Li is Tencent's favorite girl.

Would have preferred an actual Samurai Shodown character, but hey it’s free.

@3MonthBeef I mean, I do like her design and considering how Tencent is, I'm not surprised that they chose her. Just surprised that they added a character from a chinese moba game not many people know about. Then again, they also added Warden from a game that the japanese audience don't know about, so I guess that answers that lol.
