God of War is a vast PlayStation 4 game about an epic quest, with drama and bloodshed at every turn. It will soon also be available in the form of a children's book.
Titled God of War: B Is for Boy, Santa Monica Studio has worked alongside Insight Editions to produce an illustrated story book based on the adventures of Kratos and Atreus. It follows the events of the game itself, but with rhyming couplets and a focus on the alphabet, it's definitely a lighter take on the tale. While it's clearly sporting the look of a kid-friendly, bedtime page-turner, it's actually being billed as an "ABC storybook for adults".
The official blurb continues: "In this humorous take on Sony Interactive Entertainment's God of War franchise, Kratos teaches his son Atreus the ABC's of the nine realms, including lessons learned from Kratos's past mistakes."
Illustrator Romina Tempest told Polygon the book is "an abridged version" of the PS4 exclusive, aiming to capture the same father son relationship developed during the game. The book is described as child friendly "for the most part", but "You may have to cover your kid’s eyes in one or two places".

If I had a child I would definitely read this to them. I may just read this myself for the laughs, if my local library gets any copies.
