We've all been curious to see Mafia: Definitive Edition in action, especially after those gorgeous screenshots. Courtesy of IGN, we now have a lengthy video to watch, giving us about 14 minutes of gameplay and cutscenes.
The visuals look pretty damn good, and it's obviously a significant step up from the 2002 original. As developer Hangar 13 explains, the game has been rebuilt in its proprietary engine, including a brand new lighting solution. The majority of the video runs through a story mission some way into the game. We see plenty of combat, which looks more or less the same as Mafia III, which we suppose is to be expected.
Mafia: Definitive Edition was recently delayed to 25th September. Are you convinced by this gameplay footage? Tell us what you know in the comments section below.

ill def buy it if 2K dont put microtrans in it weapons, skins ect...
Would love to buy, but I suspect it might have lots of bugs just like the other remakes/remasters.
I hope it will be good though.
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L no. mafia 2 just got a remaster a little while ago. it's not the best quality since it's glitchy for lot's of people. but they are working on a fix. but that's all we are gonna get.
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L as someone interested in mafia lore in general i would recomend them.
it's a more down to earth, gritty alternative to gta without the attempt to be edgy for the sake of it.
mafia 3 can be repetitive in it's mission structure though, since it's all the same objectives to clear out the enemy bases. but the first 2 are great.
Looks good, I remember playing (and finishing) the first game on pc long time ago
I remember the driving is really slow though, and we can get ticket by police if we're speeding past the speed limit which is unnecessary I think.
Looks amazing.i will get the trilogy when its on sale.man my backlog of games is crazy.i bought 7 games and still have plenty of games left.could last me for 2 years.haha.word up son
Please don't mess this up. Please don't mess this up. Please don't mess this up!
I find Mafia games so boring you always think that the world they create will be interesting but they are not. Drive here do a mission drive another place. They create empty worlds with no substance
That looks okay. I'm interested in the mafia setting, but but very hesitant after how buggy Mafia 2 Remastered was after it released. Might get the trilogy when it's discounted, assuming all the problems have been fixed.
The gameplay footage has definitely revitalized my interest...
Anyone know if there's a chance of the two Godfather games being remastered/remade or ported to PS4/PS5?
(Also why Godfather 3 game was never made)
