In case you somehow missed it, Far Cry 6 was officially announced during the recent Ubisoft Forward event. The open world shooter returns to a more exotic setting, this time taking place on the fictitious, Cuba-esque island Yara. To celebrate the announcement, Ubisoft is feeling generous, and has dramatically dropped the PlayStation Store prices of previous PS4 games in the series.
Far Cry 3 Classic Edition -- arguably the best of the bunch -- is a measly $2.99 / £2.49, Far Cry 4 is down to $5.99 / £8.24, and most recently, Far Cry 5 has been reduced to just $8.99 / £6.99. Getting all three will only set you back $17.97 / £17.72, which is considerably less than Far Cry 3 was on its own before the discounts. These are some pretty crazy price drops.
Will you be taking advantage of this sale on Far Cry games? Do you want to catch up on the series before the sixth main entry launches? Get those wallets out in the comments below.

And you’ll only need to play one of them because then you’ve pretty much played them all.
Far Cry 3 is probably the best of them, and the cheapest.
Far cry 2 is still my fave. It is the only one I've finished, though.
Oooh nice. Been wanting to check out FC5 for a while. I guess this could be a good time
@LiamCroft exactly how i feel. Or better yet, play Farcry 3 then youve played them all at their best 😂
Why can we not get Blood Dragon for PS4, I missed it on PS3 and can't be bothered setting it back up just for this game, is it really that difficult?? It must be but I think at this stage it would sell better than New Dawn or Primal.
Far cry 3 only one I’ll get
Yeah since I played none I grabbed 5 + new Dawn.
Just running around and blowing things up. Should be good enough for that
I hate buying standard editions of games, bought fc5 ultimate edition with new dawn deluxe, all fc5 dlcs and fc3 and that's the only deal anyone should purchase
With either a Xbox or PlayStation sale you'll 100% find a Farcry game in it haha
Lol, yeah, get FC3 and you've pretty much played them. A serious bargain at £2.49 though
I bought the one for £2.49 the other day. Thought about 5 but if everyone reckons they are all the same I won't bother. I'm not mad keen on FPS anyway, but at the price of half a pint I thought I may as well get FC3 to see what the fuss is about.
Given that the last 3 open world Ubisoft games I've bought felt exactly the same, I'll pass...and that's not even considering the sexual misconduct drama over there!
Ubisoft needs to change, in more ways than one.
Have to admit that Far Cry 5 was my favourite, it's the only FC game I could be bothered going for the platinum for.
@oldschool1987 I agree. I thought Far Cry 5 and New Dawn were brilliant and easily the best in the Far Cry series. I got the platinum on both.
@SoulChimera I've not played New Dawn, was thinking of buying it after Ghost is completed.
Weird that 4 is more than 5. That's the one I'd be most tempted to get if it wasn't for the fact that I know how it always goes for me with these sorts of games - I just lose interest after a while. Still, nice savings for those who are more into the genre than I am.
Bit the bullet yesterday on FC 3 classic, should have looked around the store more closely. FC5 & season pass would have been a good deal. Oh well, Fc3 was only £2.50
@Mostik for what it’s worth, Blood Dragon is on PlayStation Now. Definitely not the best way to play games, but at least it’s something. Also only $10 a month isn’t too bad.
@Matroska I bought 4 recently and it's my first Far Cry game. I'm having fun so far. Only a couple hours in.
@Shstrick Brilliant thanks for the tip, I think there is a free trial too so I might take advantage and play it through. When you say it is not the best way to play is that because the internet is currently choked or does is just not run that smooth? I have never used Playstation Now.
Yeah fancied another spin on the islands in FC 3 for £2.50!
@LiamCroft cynic
Bought Far Cry 5. Too good of an offer to miss out. The last Far Cry I played was 2 and I loved it. Mostly due to it being somewhat realistic in terms of its setting and plot. Also, I'd argue that the Jackal wasn't your typical madman antagonist. I actually grew to understand where he was coming from. Skipped parts 3 and 4 due to the insanity BS. Now, part 5 seems to be again somewhat realistic so I'll happily play it.
Hmmm... I have Far Cry 4 and 5 with season passes already. What about 3 classic? I'm assuming it comes with all the dlc that was available during ps3 life. I never played Blood Dragon so it's a shame there's no ps4 60fps option for that.
@oldschool1987 it’s worth it. I’m drunk and I just stuck the Far Cry 5 Faith soundtrack on. Amazing. I want to play it again.
No idea why 3 is liked so much, the protagonist is possibly (in my opinion) right up there as the worst in history. 1 and 2 were great. 3 b******s. 4 ok. 5 and 5.5 amazing.
@SoulChimera tell you what, that Faith introduction when you first go to that region was actually amazing.
