The release date for Assassin's Creed Valhalla has supposedly been leaked ahead of Ubisoft Forward. As posted on Reddit, it appears as though an Instagram advert for the upcoming action RPG has spilled the beans. According to the ad, Valhalla is due to release on the 17th November 2020. That's obviously right around the time we're expecting next-gen consoles to launch.
It's also just two days before the release of Cyberpunk 2077, so there's going to be some competition.
This isn't the first leak Ubisoft has had to deal with lately. A whole 30 minutes of Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay hit the web earlier this week, followed by leaked footage of an entire boss fight. Even the announcement of Far Cry 6 was leaked ahead of schedule.

i was gonna see how close valhalla releases compared to the ps5 to decide on what gen to get it on,but it seems valhalla might be 1of my first ps5 games if this is true.

i've always been an AC fan and the franshise has a place in my heart so my choice goes to valhalla.
and while cyberpunk is a huge release AC games are aswell so i would not wory about the sales yet. it's to early to tell.
@jdv95 yeah, to be fair, AC has a big appeal for many, so it actually could be good to see who reigns supreme in the charts and seeing what affect two big titles releasing closely does.
For me, someone who has never played an AC game, Valhalla looks more appealing than other recent titles in the series and I will definitely get it on discount probably in the new year.
Cyberpunk is gonna be my Christmas present from my kids by the look of it.
I hope not. I want both of these but will choose cyberpunk first.

Honestly, I'll pick up Valhalla first if the PS5 version is ready to go, and wait on Cyberpunk for the upgrade.
I’ve was never into the original assassins creed games. Since ubi put more RPG elements into them, I throughly enjoyed origins & odyssey. So as long as Valhalla is similar to them- it’ll be a day one buy from me. As it being out 2 days before cyberpunk doesn’t bother me as I have no plans to play cyberpunk. Really looking forwards to proper gameplay footage on Sunday.

CD Projekt Red rose to the heights of Rockstar and Naughty Dog (and passed Ubisoft) with just 1 console game release, is incredible how they went from nobody's to top tier.
Maybe if Ubisoft didn't drown the market with Assassin's creed games and didn't copy and paste so much they would be looked at the same way.

I’m a assassin’s creed fan but I have to admit if true this may be a slaughter even I don’t know which to get first I mean honestly I will buy both anyway got cyberpunk pre ordered already and I will get ac pre ordered to, so it’s not like it matters but I think the majority of my time will be for cyberpunk but let’s see what the demo tomorrow brings if it’s anything like the leak which I’ve watched then I’ll be disappointed because it didn’t look like an end of generation game cyberpunk does and a game like assassin’s creed that being ghost of Tsushima does hell they look like next gen games on current gen but Valhalla didn’t at least in the leaked demo maybe the demo tomorrow and the final product will look amazing I hope so because as I said I’m a fan and I was originally excited for it.

I played the original Assassins Creed way back in the day and hated it and never went back. About a month ago I bought Assassins Creed Odyssey because i had heard it was very good, and much different to the original games.
Again I absolutely hated it and returned it within a day. The combat seemed to have been improved but the endless dialogue is boring, the load times are quite frankly atrocious and the map/plotting points of interest/quests is the most unintuitive and confusing I’ve ever seen in an open world game. And having to drag a cursor around inside the menus? What kind of crap is that?
I do not understand why these games are so popular.

Kidding aside, this is gonna sell gangbusters as always, as even the most casual players know what AC is.
There's a lot of hype for CP, of course, but we enthusiasts should remind ourselves that we're a tiny fraction of the player base, and many people don't have an idea what CP is and probably won't until it drops.
What's the big problem with two good games coming out at the same time? Its not like you have to pick only one, and will never play the other, right? I see it as a total win. Play the game you want more (or flip a coin, if you can't choose) and then by the time you're finished with it, maybe the other one has gone on sale.
Either way, with big games like this, it means that for me I have three to four months straight of gaming lined up at that point between the two.
All of that being said, I'm much more looking forward to AC Valhalla, and will wait to buy it with my PS5, whenever that happens. If the PS5 release of the game isn't at system launch, then so be it. I'll be patient.
This goes to the PS5 list then. I already have CyberPunk on preorder. No way I can play both at the same time.
But having the to choose between two amazing looking AAA games is a good "problem" to have. Either way you have one amazing backlog

I'll wait for PS5 before getting AC or Cyberpunk so no issue with them releasing so close together! Hopefully get one of them bundled with the console.
@Arnna Yes, that pointer in menus and inventories is idiotic. Yes, empty places vs swarm of icons on one place in map is frustrating too. I don't think that combat is improved, coz it is monotonous and weird since AC Revelations. A lots of dialogues would not be problem if every dialogue woldn't be minimovie that loads longer, than it takes. There are more major issues than these...
Cyberpunk isn't going to completely overshadow Assassins Creed. The series is more than big enough to hold its own.
I expect Cyberpunk, which is unlikely to live upto its hype, to sell better but its not going to simply obliterate one of the biggest series in gaming
If ubi places an ad with the release date then it’s not really a leak is it? More like an intentional ad designed to get a bit of publicity ahead of their showcase...

That means ill wait a little while to buy Assassins Creed Valhalla Gold edition down the line. Cyberpunk 2077 trumps any release this year.
