DIRT 5 is coming to both PlayStation 4 and PS5, and it's bringing with it an extensive career mode. Codemasters has been boasting of the series' biggest career mode yet, complete with a narrative starring the likes of Troy Baker and Nolan North. Now, it's the turn of the game's stars to big up the game.
Codies just released the above video, which features the aforementioned actors as well as Donut Media's James Pumphrey and Nolan Sykes, who will be hosting an in-game podcast. Baker and North discuss their characters and how they were pleasantly surprised by the depth provided by the writers. They all seem pretty jazzed about the game's story.
We're curious, it has to be said. Racing games and story don't often mix, so the jury's out on this until we see it for ourselves. DIRT 5 releases on 9th October for PS4, with PS5 to follow at a later date -- perhaps it'll be a launch title. Are you looking forward to this one? Rev your engines in the comments section below.

I'm looking forward to it if the story doesn't get in the way, I might be in the minority but I buy racing games to race and find a lot of the time they add extra things that just get in the way
This is gonna be full of dudebro Americans. I'd like something different, like a scouser ragging around in a Vauxhall Nova or something.
@ApostateMage I would definitely buy that game - brilliant 🤣
Really excited about this one. Going to hold out a month or so and just get the PS5 version. Codemasters rarely disappoints!
Hmmmmmm. I'm in two minds about this. The racing will no doubt be solid, but the story has massive cringe potential
I'm not fan of these type of racing games, but power for those that do.... I'm more into something like the Destruction AllStars game shown during the PS event. Now that game looks fun.
I'm excited for this but damn I hate cross-gen games!
If it's online only then its a no no.
I like both of those voice actors, but Im tired of Racing games trying to be more than a racing game. No one buys a racing game for its story.
