The Last of Us: Part II has been in development for a heck of a long time, but it's very nearly here. Announced all the way back in 2016, the sequel has suffered delays and leaks in the run up to release. Today, we're just over a week away from playing the final game.
As is the norm these days, Sony has put out a launch trailer for the hotly anticipated title, which you can view above. It's short, and doesn't cover anything we haven't seen before, but it's enough to get the hype flowing. I have avoided all trailers and articles so far so as not to spoil the experience so I won't watch it as I am already hyped without it!
Little more than a week to go
Huh, shorter than I was expecting. I kinda wished for a launch trailer in the spirit of the original game's, which was a p great launch trailer.
The Ellie at 0:09 doesn't really look like Ellie to me.
This trailer says everything it needs to about the games tone in the 50 seconds run time. It's perfect.
Pass, I'll get this game when it's like $10 or $15. Takes a long time for a Sony game to drop but oh well. Neil Druckmann's comments were enough to make me cancel my pre-order because I'm a "toxic fan".

@Octane Tbh it's a problem with Naughty Dog's games in general where characters change a bit too much. See Chloe from U2, U3 and Lost Legacy.
Just a friendly heads up guys: some trolls are really trying hard to spoil this game for others. Especially on Facebook. I'm going completely dark till launch day.
Sometimes I wonder if hype moves from the rational into some kind of habitual behaviour fuelled by an enthusiastic echo chamber. overkill is putting it mildly. This is no comment on the game itself, something my interest in has differentially diminished as the hype grew.
not long now cannot wait to play it! paid for my preorder today.
Currently going through grounded plus on TLOU. Man it can be maddening at times.
