Publisher Electronic Arts has made the difficult decision to postpone its EA Play 2020 event by a week so that more important voices can be heard during these difficult times. The digital showcase, which will hopefully play host to the announcement of a Mass Effect Trilogy remaster, will now take place on 18th June at 4pm PDT / 7pm EDT / 12am BST.
Confirmed in a tweet, EA said: "With the important conversations taking place and important voices being heard around the world right now, we're moving our time to come together in play."

EA, the corporate suits of the gaming world, are having "important conversations” with themselves about how they can squeeze more money out of their customer base whilst putting in as little effort as possible with their recycled annual game entries.
Thanks god.
I can feel less oppressed for a week now that EA is not showing videogames trailers.
V-v-v-virtue signal!
@TrueAssassin86x I called that last week
Im surprised by this. Mainly because its EA.
I don't see an issue with this but I know the community will whine about how meaningless it is as their contribution to the conversation.
@lordzand What’s extra ironic is that if EA’s presentation went ahead as planned, those same people would say that they wouldn’t have watched it anyway.
With how violent police forces have been against peaceful protesters, I don't see this ending anytime soon, lol.
@Kienda FYI, among all corporates, EA has donated more than any other company to organizations to help fight against racism.

“ We’re contributing $1 million to organizations dedicated to the fight for racial justice in the U.S. and against discrimination around the world. [...] In addition to our company contribution, we’ll double match any funds that you donate to these and any other local organizations through our YourCause program during the month of June.“
They're waiting for the Fight Night reveal, on the ps5, aren't they?
@tatsumi well, that is good to hear.
Look, I’m not EA’s biggest hater, but they still do represent big greedy corporations in the gaming world that I don’t gel with. I prefer companies with more heart.
EA should postpone EA until there's a cure for EA.
@nessisonett Or they would’ve accused EA of being racist for going ahead with it had they held the date. Nobody can win, everyone’s racist now apparently, or that’s what the mob would have you believe. 🙄
@tatsumi "among all corporates, EA has donated more than any other company to organizations to help fight against racism."
I think $100 million is more than $1 million.

@nessisonett If EAs big announcement is Mass Effe t Trilogy remastered is there really any reason to watch?
@rjejr Hopefully they have an inexperienced streamer present it again. I wanna watch a car crash live on air with awkward pauses and messed up lines.
Being from the ghetto and having lived on the Rez, I am relieved so many white video game developers, companies, publishers, etc. suddenly care about the black man. Yet if a black man joins the cop force he suddenly becomes an Uncle Tom n*gger and a sellout. If you disagree with Democrat leaders you get blackballed by black leaders. If you're black and smart in a black school, you get bullied, beaten, tortured, and called all sorts of names. I can't even get someone to trim my trees or deliver pizza. Not even black people will come to my neighborhood.. and we're a black neighborhood! So until we solve the problems afflicting our inner city youth, especially black on black violence, shut the Hades EA. Yet the same people who are whining about police brutality will be the same people who will be voting for a man who sponsored and supported segregationist legislation when I was in school. And said candidate Joe Biden was also friends with one Mr. Jesse Helms, who was no friend of the Black Man. Wow, people are so gullible and unable to think for themselves.
@nessisonett I'm only watching if they bring Pele back.
#BringBackPele 😂
@cashflowx Did we grow up in the same neighborhood? Being a delivery man in my old neighborhood made you a walking target. They were assaulted and robbed all the time. Your comments about Biden are spot on 👌.
EA I have four words for ya. "Go Woke, Go Broke!"
