Rumours and speculation of a brand new Crash Bandicoot game have been swirling for quite some time now, and it looks like fans may finally get their wish at today's PlayStation 5 reveal event. A new line of merchandise for the bandicoot has leaked, suggesting that the reveal of the new title is just around the corner.
The advertisement has since been pulled, but here's a screengrab of what website BlackFire had to offer, including the protagonist, a redesigned Tawna, and Coco. We've even got Crash taking a selfie for one certain figurine. That's alongside a beanie and scarf set, keyrings, snapbacks, and mugs.
Are we now less than 12 hours away from seeing the next Crash Bandicoot game? This is most likely going to be a cross-gen game which also comes to PlayStation 4. Speculate away in the comments below.

I do wonder if Sony ever regret letting the crash ip go. Even if you furlough your ip for a number of years, its surely more valuable to keep in case you do choose to do something with it in the future
I voted yes to seeing a something about a new Crash game in tonight's reveal so this only supports that thinking, does this mean we will have a selfie photo mode though!!
@Rob_230 Did they ever own it though? ND made the first games, but that was for Universal Interactive Studios. That company later became Vivendi, and they merged with Activision; which is how Activision got the IP. I don't think Sony ever owned the franchise in the first place.
Ok, I'm excited
As long as it's a timed exclusivity only on Sony's part and not a dumb Sony-Microsoft, non-Nintendo and non-PC exclusivity, I'd totally be fine with this being PS5's baby for tonight. I don't mind Crash being tied to Sony at all this time around. Impress us, Sony!
@1967design
... why would anyone ever need Crash Bandicoot on VR?
I'm not sarcastic, trolling or anything. Just genuinely puzzled.
@Octane just read up on my history. You are completely corrrect. Explains alot. It seems a complicated relationship! Thanks for clearing it up
@Rob_230 Sony never owned Crash. It was owned by Universal before Activison got control of it.
@AlexSora89 Games like Moss and Astro Bot seem to be pretty well done, so I can see why some people would want a VR Crash game.
@Rob_230 Yeah, it is complicated, especially because Naughty Dog made the first game (though ND wasn't a part of Sony back in 1996), Sony published it, and it was a PS1 exclusive, so it's easy to mistake it for a Sony IP.
Will we be surprised later tonight or is everything leaking? lol

I might sound like a grumpy old guy here, but I fail to see the appeal of a first-person Crash Bandicoot game. I think a game is supposed to be conceived with VR in mind for it to work. Shoehorning a franchise into a type of gaming experience that's not fit for it will hardly do the trick.
Forget the fact I'm a Nintendo gamer - the 3D gameplay I got out of the Nintendo 3DS was neat when I could look into the screen, but I didn't actually need for things to pop out. I admit I've never tried VR, but it's not like I don't have the possibility to do so either - Nintendo Labo is right there. I just don't see VR as something for me, so it's totally subjective. Realism in game is all fine and dandy, as long as they don't try to grab me into it. That's not a line that's supposed to be crossed - again, in my opinion at least.
@AFCC Nothing has leaked yet, it's all just rumours.
I found the last new free level nearly impossible to complete :-/ so I hope the new Crash game is different really because I don't fancy tearing my hair out again trying to complete the new game. Can't wait to see a new game tho + it's a CRYING SHAME that SONY don't own Crash anymore :-/ What a stupid thing to do and sell him off
@AlexSora89 You're right, there's no appeal of 1st person Crash. Moss, Astrobot, Lucky's Tale, etc. are 3rd person games in VR and it's really great. Check some gameplays. And it's not solely about 3D poppin. Just imagine Super Mario 3D Land VR, but instead of looking inside the game through 3DS, you are behind the screen, with similiar camera movement. It's simple but quite effective, just gets you into the world of the game.
When you have the chance, try Astrobot PSVR demo - as a Nintendo gamer you will love it
@LiamCroft Many of these will be true
Hype. Hopefully this means we'll get some new info on Crash today.
Now I’m excited.
How about Crash got his own Conkers Bad Fur Day style makeover, the reactions would be glorious😆
@AlexSora89 VR isn't just for 1st person stuff, like @SilenceCZ said.
Hmm sadly this turned out to be a false hope, nothing Bandicoot was announced at the event.
