Trails of Cold Steel IV has a new story trailer, and those already invested in the series will know the significance of this final chapter in the Erebonian arc. With the previous game ending on a total cliffhanger, the trailer sets the stage for what should be an engrossing Class VII adventure.
We've said it once and we'll say it again: the Cold Steel games are great. If you're looking for Japanese role-playing titles with an emphasis on characters and their relationships, it's a series that you simply shouldn't miss. We'd go as far to say that Cold Steel III in particular is one of the absolute best JRPGs on PlayStation 4, so we can't wait to dive into the sequel.
Cold Steel IV is still slated for release this Fall on PS4.

Ahh, don’t watch, don’t watch! I’m only on Trails in the Sky SC!
@nessisonett. Im only in the first game.so yeah.word up son
rocks back and forth like a maniac I NEED THIS GAME NOW!!!
At least while I wait for it I'll have the third game to play through a second time when it releases on Switch
Almost finished the second game, really good stuff! Will get the third one played at some point before this hits.
Still need to play 3!
I still have the third game to play yet.Loved the second game but it dragged so much at the end I was glad to finish and start something different.
Looking forward to it.
Im stuck at the end of TOCS2 and cant get past a couple of stubborn bosses really annoyed about it. Not sure what to do. Ill probably have to watch the ending on youtube before starting TOCS3
@Rob_230 You get the option to restart from the beginning of the fight and drop the difficulty every time you die. The difficulty will then go back up again after you’ve completed that fight. No need to get hung up on trying to overcome difficulties spikes. Just keep dropping the difficulty and retrying till you win.
@Ryall Thabks for the tips! Haha i still got wiped when i did that. Maybe ill have another go tonight. I understand i have an even tougher boss coming up too so its certainly going to take some perseverance! Maybe i'll need to do some grinding!
I need to get into this again.
I couldn't start the second game after finishing the first, even though it was good I just couldn't go through 90h of what basically looked like the same game.
It's a shame there's no improvement in the look of the games throughout the series.
I hope the rumored new game doesn't still look like an early PS3 game
I've just started the first Cold Steel game and although I was put off by the dated look and feel, I'm really enjoying it. I wonder if I can get through all 3 by the time this releases
i got all 3 of them, with only 10 hours put into the first one and in total, its gonna be 180 hours to beat all 3, plus about 60 for the 4th one...
really, i should be doing something more productive :s
@Rob_230 It's a JRPG, so unfortunately some grinding is required for end game bosses.
I also advise looking up gameplay videos of how they beat the boss, or google for help articles.
If you have never gotten into JRPGs like me but you’re sitting at home with the Coronavirus outbreak and can’t decide what to play, go out and buy the first Trails of Cold Steel on PSN store. It’s on sale this week. It’s a great game for anyone. It’s accessible, it’s fun, it eats ip your time, and you will keep coming back to it. And, if you’re like me, you got invested in the series and now can’t wait for the fourth entry. Great games! I wish Sony would highlight them—they really are worth the time.
I cant wait. Im hoping they bring out trails to zero and azure out in eu. Cant wait to see a special rival return . And some characters from the earlier trails games. Talking about trails in the sky 1 and 2
@jgrangervikings1 its not the fourth entry its the nineth
@johnny30 Yeah, yeah. You know what I mean. This one will be Trails of Cold Steel IV, not Trails of Cold Steel IX.
@jgrangervikings1 yeah I get you. I think at lot are going struggle with the story if they've only played trails of cold steel games
