We all know that PlayStation 5's lead system architect, Mark Cerny, has the most soothing voice in the games industry. He always speaks in a relaxed tone, as though he's reading us all a bedtime story. It's never not a pleasure to listen to the man talk, even when it's about next-gen mumbo jumbo. Why not take advantage of his smooth vocals and turn him into the ASMR genius he was born to be? One person has had such an idea, and we've ended up with the above.
Cerny's entire, hour-long 'Road to PS5' presentation is included here, but with added reverb and ambient music to really help you feel relaxed. ASMR -- which stands for autonomous sensory meridian response -- is a tingling sensation you feel when you hear certain audio, and it's a little different for each person. While the popular YouTube trend typically involves binaural sound, you won't find any of that here. There's no glass-tapping or crisp-eating going on in this video. It's more of a meditative, sleepy experience, and in that respect it's hilariously effective. If you're having trouble nodding off, plug in Cerny and have him sooth you to sleep with talk of solid state drives and power consumption.
What do you think of Mark Cerny's ASMR debut? Will you be chilling out with this relaxing video? Count sheep in the comments section below.

It's not what we asked but it's what the world needs.
Mark Cerny is our generation's Bob Ross.
Hehehe love this! Don’t have trouble sleeping myself but if I did I reckon this’d help!
This will go perfect with my official Mark Cerny duvet cover and pillowcase set that I've just bought from Argos.
@Neolit haha. I know the feeling. I used to think it was impossible to fall asleep playing videogames but now it's a regular occurrence!
Lol, this is brilliant
Dont know why but I legit just laughed out loud when Knack floated across the screen. Brilliant.
He’s a lot more engaging than some of my lecturers. I legitimately fell asleep during a Logic and Algorithms lecture this year so yeah, having no exams is great!
lol Wonderful they should have done the original like the it's much more easier to take in.
It's like a good trip and then you compare with the guys who has the Greenberg video on. 😃🤪
Hope Sony keep Cerny for generations to come, he's one of the best heads on PlayStation.
@Arugula well the best at it on YouTube is probably raffytaffy. As far as I know asmr is a sensory condition that not everyone has. I guess that's why a lot of people find it confusing.
@lukey-luke98 War Tony!
@Neolit Guys guy's! It's called aging gracefully into constant changing gaming environment! Now wusaaaa..... cough cough, where's my viagra! I hear Olivia Munn is doing the weather! Lol.
@Enuo I loved his brilliant painting and he sounded like a guy you could sit down with and have a beer.
Turning that hour long presentation - which I watched all of live - into an ASMR video is the definition of redundant. I'm falling asleep just thinking about it.
This is the purest ASMR I’ve ever heard. Actually is surprisingly relaxing. I think Morgan Freeman might have some competition though.
Wow. Would make a cool dynamic background on my PS4.
It actually helps me pay attention more lol
I never watched the original console breakdown video, but I'm actually finding everything that Cerny is talking about really interesting lol. I think the calming music and reverb really add to it.
Dreaming sweet PS5 dreams ...
We need a Mark Cerny teddy bear. I want to hug him and thank him. Brilliant Stuff!
And I thought I couldn't fall asleep faster than I did with that conference xD
To be fair, it's Mark Cerny, so I understand why this exists.
I really think peoples expectations for that Deep Dive was far way to high if you really like technology and especially PC hardware and console hardware then it wasn't boring at all. In fact it was rather good presentation that Sony have listened to devs and customers as well. I enjoyed it especially how they went from the PS1 through the consoles to present and upcoming
