As promised, 2K Sports has pulled back the curtain on PGA Tour 2K21, the studio’s upcoming golf simulation game. Due out 21st August on PlayStation 4, the release will build upon HB Studios’ previous effort The Golf Club 2019, bringing back the course creator and online societies that already proved popular with fans.

However, there’ll also be 15 licensed PGA Tour courses, each “scanned using cutting-edge technology to bring the fairways, greens, bunkers, trees, lakes, and ponds to life”. American superstar Justin Thomas will lead a roster of professional players, though you’ll also be able to create your own MyPLAYER and kit them out with “equipment and apparel from licensed brands including Adidas”.

In fact, if you pre-order, you’ll grab a bunch of in-game Adidas clothing designed exclusively for the game. Those who plump up for the Digital Deluxe Edition will also nab some golden clubs, as well as 2,300 VC for use on cosmetic items. We guess that means that NBA 2K’s divisive microtransaction currency will be returning.

The press release explains: “PGA Tour 2K21 is designed for players of all skill levels. Rookies can take advantage of real-time tutorials, tips, and shot suggestions, while veterans can master their games with Pro Vision, Distance Control, Putt Preview and other innovations. Social gaming is at the core of the experience, as players can hit the links with friends in local and online matches.”

We were already fans of The Golf Club series, but the added 2K Sports polish should ensure PGA Tour 2K21 takes things to the next level. Will you be teeing off with this title at all? Hit a long drive in the comments section below.
