Update: It's now been confirmed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will release Holiday 2020 on PS5 and PS4. You can find out more about that through here.
Original Story: Ubisoft appears to have very big plans when it comes to supporting the PlayStation 5 from day one. According to Jason Schreier, who will soon be joining Bloomberg News, the French publisher plans to put out both Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion this year -- presumably coinciding with the launch of Sony's next-gen console. The coronavirus pandemic could still yet affect these plans, but at the time of writing, the PS5's launch line-up is coming together rather well.
We can say that thanks to a recent tweet from Schreier, who responded to a user questioning whether or not Ubisoft would release its two blockbuster titles in the same holiday season. He responded by saying: "Unless one of them is bumped because of covid, yeah that's the plan."
It's a debate we've been having at Push Square for quite a while now, raising questions of whether or not one of the projects would be bumped to early 2021 so that they don't eat each other's lunch. According to the reliable Jason Schreier at least, we're getting them both at once. Combined with strong rumours of a Demon's Souls Remake, Ratchet & Clank, and Godfall, we're already envisioning a very strong launch line-up for PS5. It certainly beats the likes of Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall on PlayStation 4, at least.
Do you hope Ubisoft's plans come to fruition? Will you even have the time to play both Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion this holiday season? Plan your free time accordingly in the comments below.

Killzone Shadowfall was a great game. I donβt get the hate
Are we expecting both to still arrive on PS4 too?
@Boucho11 It certainly had its moments, and it looked incredible. I felt the story was all over the place unfortunately and it certainly didnt live up to the quality of the rest of the series.
I've said before that it launched very close to killzone mercenaries on Vita and that was a far superior game (a little surprised its not been ported to PS4 tbh)
If they add character customisation instead of just presets and if you can play as a female Viking as well, I'll get Valhalla. I really like the Viking setting but then I also really like Ancient Egypt and Greece and I've never quite got around to get the last two ACs. That'd make me take the plunge, though. I mean, if you're gonna go RPG, you might as well do it properly.
Knack was a great game.
Seems a bit stupid to be putting two open world games made by the same company out at the same time.
@Rob_230 ubisoft stated Some time ago that all their upcoming games are cross gen. So yes.
Has Gods & Monsters been canceled?
I know way back in October it was delayed along w/ all of the other Ubi games but it hasn't been seen or mentioned once since then.

Which reminds me, where's Beyond Good & Evil 2? You guys can't be serious about it still being a a 2020 game.

You got BG&E2 on your Christmas wishlist @Octane ? π
@Rob_230 mercenaries was great fun. Good MP shooter on the vita as well.
@rjejr I'd imagine it's just coming later. From the sounds of it, AC and Watch Dogs will be releasing at the same time, which is already a bit much, so adding a third Ubisoft open worlder to the mix (that is a new IP) wouldn't be a great idea.
@Orpheus79V They weren't "adding it to the mix" though if in June it had a release date of February 25th. The game must have been well along in development to get dated I would think. They didn't just announce it, it had a release date that passed 2 months ago.
So yeah, COVID-19 messed up everything, but where is it?
Plus, I don't see ACV or W_D on Switch, which was getting G&M, so there was NO competition on Switch.

It's like deja-vu, Black Flag and Watchdogs were going to both be PS4 launch games until Watchdogs got a late delay.
@rjejr It has nothing to with COVID, they've just made it cross-gen.

So yes, it will likely be coming in early 2021, after ACV and WDL to avoid too much self competition.
killzone shadowfall was a fantasti launch title, I enjoyed it as it really excited me to see the upgraded quality of the PS4 generation. that's being said it looks like the PS5 is going to have much better games when it launches! Sony is going to shock the world when it finally reveals the PS5 along with the launch line up! ππ
Valhalla looks absolutely PERFECT! the PlayStation 5 is going to usher in a gaming revolution the likes of which consoles has never seen before! when you take into consideration that the PS5 is built from the ground up to be optimized for gaming it's even going to rival gaming PC's imo π
@Orpheus79V That's a 7 month old article you linked to, do you have anything more recent about Gods & Monsters? And again, no competition on Switch as I haven't seen any mention of AC:V or WD on Switch. Nintendo Life hasn't even mentioned them on their site.

And yes, I know this is a Sony-centric site, but Gods & Monsters is a multplatform game that seems to have disappeared since October. Scalebound was at least getting coverage up until it was cancelled on Xbox. I keep Googling it but nothing since last E3 and the delay in Oct. For a game that was supposed to release Feb 25, 2020, it was dated.
@rjejr Yeah, it's 7 months, but Yves's quote in there confirms it's going to be cross generational, which means it's coming after the PS5 and Series X release. Because of that, Ubisoft are likely waiting until after AC and WD have launched to put it out - because even if the Switch version isn't directly competing with them, the other 5 versions would be, which I'm sure is being taken into consideration.
As for why we haven't been hearing much about it? They're probably saving it until it's a bit closer to release, which is what Ubisoft usually does (exceptions like Skull & Bones, BG&E2 notwithstanding). There's that new Keighley thing happening over the next few months, that seems like a good oppurtunity for a re-reveal.
I wouldn't worry about any cancellations because Watch Dogs Legion has been similarly quiet since the delay (https://www.pushsquare.com/games/ps4/watch_dogs_legion/news), and we know that isn't gonna get the scrap.
@Orpheus79V BG&E2 is in it's 2nd go around - leaked trailer in 2009 - and they still can't get it going.

These guys re-opened Pure Xbox after a 3 year hiatus and it still has BG&E2 listed as 2016. π€£

@rjejr Yeah but that game has been known to be in development hell, Gods and Monsters seems to be fine, the company has just decided they want to release their upcoming games on the new consoles too, so they're holding on to them for a bit longer.
