Update: Sony has now officially confirmed March 2020's awesome PlayStation Now update, which includes Control and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Both titles will be available to stream and download until 31st August, while Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be available for the foreseeable future. The trio will be joined by several other games, as listed below:
- Dead or Alive 5: Last Round
- NASCAR Heat 3
- Nights of Azure
- Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon
- Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13
- Toukiden 2
- Toukiden Kiwami
- Warriors All-Stars
In even better news, PUBG's stay on the service has been extended indefinitely, so if you didn't get around to trying the Battle Royale yet, you know what to do. Happy?
Original Article: What new games are coming to PlayStation Now in March 2020? Well, it looks like Sony’s going a bumper lineup in store. While there’s yet to be official confirmation from the Japanese giant, the subscription service has refreshed today with a ton of new titles, including Control and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Both releases will be available to stream and download until 31st August.
The update doesn’t end there, however, as Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and NASCAR Heat 3 are also joining the library. As is Toukiden: Kiwami, Toukiden 2, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, Nights of Azure, Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII. That’s a lot of bang for your buck. We’ll update as soon as we learn more from Sony.

Ok now we're talking.
About to download Control Now!
This is an awesome update.
@get2sammyb Right!
Stupid, why buy games if they are going to be on here? Will only hurt these companies in the long run.
Control, sweet! Now I know what to play this weekend. Very good update over all.
Hooooo boy, this is brilliant. I love PS Now, me and my brother have been duking it out in Don Bradman Cricket 14 despite neither of us understanding the controls or honestly, Cricket in general. It’s so simple to just open a random game and see if you like it. In the case of DBC14, it’s really funny and janky. Probably going to download Control today and see if I like it.
@Glennh73 Obviously not, since these companies are allowing these games to be on the platform. It's not as if Sony simply decides to put these games on there without some kind of an agreement with said third-party company.
Financial terms are met before these games are placed on these services knowing that having these games on the platform could be lost sales. Don't worry, Remedy will still keep it's doors open.
Nice!!!!
I'm glad I didn't buy Control! Hell yeah.
I love that they have added Control since I really wanted to play this game. Thumbs up!
I should have opted for PS Now instead of PS Plus which hasn't worked for me at all >_<
To the people excited for Control; you're in for a treat.
I picked it up (and several cases of beer) just before Xmas as a holiday treat to chip away on in the evenings. Brilliant game. Really surprised me. Take the time to watch the videos and read the documents you find, they really add a ton of depth to the world.
@Glennh73 I forget, are we annoyed because streaming is anti-consumer or anti-developer?
What a quality update. I have a free trial for PS Now apparently so I might get myself on and play Control. Although I was just waiting for PS5 now that I think about it because Control had some framerate issues didn't it? I guess I'll stick with that. How quickly things change.
@johncalmc It's absolutely fine on Pro after the patch, not so hot on regular PS4 though.
@kyleforrester87 I only have the normal one.
@johncalmc Hmm, probably explains why you struggled so much on the scorpion boss. Get pro.
Time to jump on the bandwagon and work off my mental backlog.
@Glennh73 it's been out 6 months maybe its sales have slowed so it makes sense for them to put it on PSNow (or Gamepass)
@kyleforrester87 There's plenty of life left in the old girl yet.
They allmost had me with God of War but with Control Im defo going to redeem that free trial.
@kyleforrester87 "streaming is anti-"
Streaming is anti-everything. Fortunately PS Now lets you download PS4 games so you don't have to stream them.
My son just signed up for PS Now Sunday - needed to play U: Lost Legacy to complete the series (minus Abyss) I'll pass on the good word to him about Control.
@rjejr streaming is awesome.
@Glennh73 I tend to agree. Other than for possible bragging rights or to try and avoid spoilers, there's almost no reason to buy games nowadays.
Control only came out six months ago and it's not as if there have been a plethora of good titles released in the meantime.
Maybe Last of Us 2 will be the last game I actually outright buy, PS Plus and Now seem to be all that one needs.
I'm just not sure if this is a good thing or not. It works out cheaper BUT it means you have to keep on subscribing or you'll end up owning nothing!
Since I just finished Persona 5 yesterday, I was thinking of buying Control to play before Doom Eternal is out.
Lo and behold Sony must be reading my mind. I'll be downloading it once the FF7R demo is done.
@kyleforrester87 Nobody will ever convince me that something which requires a cloud save file to continue is awesome. I don't have cable, we stream all of our tv, it something goes out we just continue later. I'm not trusting a 150 hour Witcher 3 game or long JRPG to streaming. Tertris or Pacman would be fine to kill time, but nothing I'm devoting myself to.
We also have Xbox Gamepass on PC - no Xbox - and that works well but all of the games are downloaded. I suppose the save files could be in the cloud, I never looked.
We have 100Mbps internet, we probably could stream, but I don't trust it yet. Then again I still buy most things on disc or cart, so call me old fashioned.
YESSS! Going to download Control & Shadow of the Tomb Raider ASAP & will be adding Toukiden 2 & Romance of the 3 Kingdoms as I’ve always been curious. Best update yet!
@rjejr You can download PS4 games and the save is stored locally like normal...
@rjejr Believe me, streaming is awesome.
@kyleforrester87 Nobody is ever believing a word that avatar says.
@Angelus3K Thanks. That's 1 of the reasons I'm ok w/ PS Now, it's not fully a streaming service anymore, it's a rental service, and I'm ok w/ rentals.
@Col_McCafferty I don't understand the need to own everything. I mean, how often does the average gamer go back to all of his/her purchased games?
Most of time people play new games and even when they play old games it's one or two classics.
But... But... But Gamepass! 🤭
Control is $60 on PS store, $60 at Best Buy, $48 at walmart, $45 at Amazon. Point is alot of us will not buy the game at launch and will wait till it's on PS NOW. Which will hurt the industry and kill the market. Why spend millions on a game if you can throw a game together for PS now? You think if PS Now becomes the norm that developers are going to put money into the games? Or make them long? I'm telling you in the end we will lose. I almost bought game, if I did I be pissed. This will make me and family buy less games.
Well, time to cash that free trial i guess
Its great that Control and Tomb Raider are on there but I could care less about the rest that were added.
I wonder, does Control run better on PS Now than on base PS4?
Did anyone else switch out their ps4 HD for a SSD? i did it a few years ago and my load times are almost none-existent. With exception to pillars of eternity, which is just the absolute worst console optimized game i have ever played.
I'm hoping it makes Control a smoother experience for me than it has been for most non-pro owners.
@Glennh73 Nothing but facts, anyone thinking otherwise is delusional.
Stuff game pass and stuff ps now.
@BarefootBowser Lies, developers and industry experts have openly came out and said these types of services including streaming will be damaging in the long run.
@naruball I have found, after several attempts, that you can’t really convince someone who thinks they need to own everything that they don’t really need to own everything. Eventually the red lines they have will shift and they’ll soften to the prospect, as they have done with every other change life has thrown at them.
@naruball Some people enjoy collecting and building a collection. Just because someone probably isn’t going to go back doesn’t mean they don’t get satisfaction from continuing to own games they’ve enjoyed.
@BarefootBowser Yeah, cuz Game Pass is full of AAA titles.
Took the plunge (ie 7 day free trial) to download Control, Wolfen, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and PUBG. ... might even subscribe to Now for an extra month or two to finish a few more games on the service. Can defo see the appeal and a decent price.
@johncalmc i also have a free trial. Ive been waiting for something i really wanted to be added before using. Im downloading Control right now. I also streamed a couple of games while i was waiting for it to download, they ran flawlessly. Ps now seems alot better than i expected it to be.
@LN78 yeah I hear ya, the thing is, once you’re into something you don’t really notice the rough edges quite so much. You do compromise with streaming films etc. but it’s fine on balance. I agree games on the other hand struggle a bit at the moment, I wouldn’t play my triple AAA’s via Now etc. but I’ve found it’s a really good way to go back and dip into old favourites (Sonic 2, Crazy Taxi etc).
I am also considering the idea of getting Stadia for Baldurs Gate 3. I probably won’t, but I’m actively not mentally closing the door on that idea.
@naruball I Do I Have a 2nd Profile On Both My PS3 And PS4 For That Very Reason
@kyleforrester87 Or maybe some people simply hold different opinions from your own.
😝
@Col_McCafferty yep, those people are 100% wrong!
@kyleforrester87 Ha!
Right... But what about ALL the games on the catalogue.
If you can stream some you can stream them all... Meaning we don't need a new console... Meaning you're paying them for NOTHING...
Work it out kids. This is a fleecing and a half going on here.
COMMIT, Sony, give it up!
Damm bought control few weeks back, played quite a bit but stopped playing it, started a new job so my body clock was all over place so couldnt really get into it. will defo go back to it at some point but will start it again. I think ps now is great if there are a couple of games you want but not sure about or just would not buy normally, for me its f1 and lego games, wouldnt buy them but enjoy playing them every now and again. ps now 50 quid for a year is well worth it imo, even if you play say 3 or 4 games a year think you have saved a bit of money. Same with plus imo if you get a few games a year its worth it, add on top savings in sale store. If i want a game ill buy it, some ill wait 4 sale and then some you can wait/hope they come to now or plus. Also IF this becomes the norm with subscription for games, you have to take into account that everyone has to pay, now its only a small percentage, if everyone had to pay think developers and such would be ok,they also wouldnt really have to pay for advertising as service would take care of that, also no need to put games on discs. And then they can make some money off dlc and microtransactions and stuff.
My backlog just gets bigger and bigger lol.
Need to beat Beyond Two Souls, Batman Arkham Knight, Shadow of the collosus & now Control and Tomb Raider before FF7Remake arrives
March has been spoiling me
@Glennh73 thats like saying why buy games at $60 if you can get them for $20 in like a year
I live in Australia and this service is STILL not available. Sony, what gives?
@potter32 I’m a PlayStation fan but Game Pass has loads more content
i am already forced to pay for psplus so i can play my 60+ dollar games online, because idiots on the xbox back in the day blindly accepted xblive. so i am not gonna waste a dime on this psnow crap thats for sure.
@Netret0120 Heh, good luck!
😉
I'm okay to wait for FFVII but will be dropping everything once The Last of Us 2 comes out.
@Col_McCafferty
Thankfully TLOU Part 2 got delayed because i was going to be stretched thin on game time.
PS4 is going out with a bang.
When it says "until 31st August", what happens after that? If you've downloaded it, does it just stop working?
@kyleforrester87 Yeah, I have to agree, though it's really not so much about convincing anyone. Just pointing out a fact: that despite so many people complaining about not owning the games, the vast majority of time even when they do own them, they don't play them again.
You're right. It happens gradually. I know it happened to me and I see it happening to others. I sure didn't think the way I currently do.
@Areus interesting.
@Ryall I, too, have a massive collection. But I'm beginning to wonder what the point is at the end of the day.
@sanderson72 I assume, just like ps+ games after your subscription ends.
@Glennh73 There is a reason to buy the games. In most cases the games only have a certain time frame they are on the service. If you don't beat the game before they leave then you need to buy it.
The other is that all of the games have the GotY Edition. For instance Marvel's Spider-Man has a Digital Version that includes all the DLC. The one on PS Now does not include the DLC at all.
Also from what I can tell Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PS Now is the Definitive Edition. However for some reason it doesn't include the DLC at all.
Update: It seems it may be the Digital Version. What confuses me is it states "New Content Available: Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition" on the right side. Although I have none of the DLC Tombs available plus the Skills are locked and it takes me to the store to buy the DLC.
