Fancy your chances on the red planet? Our solar system neighbour is the setting for Limbic Entertainment's open world survival game, Memories of Mars, which just released yesterday on PlayStation 4.
As you can see in the above trailer, you'll be exploring the surface of the rocky planet, gathering materials, building up your base, and fending off hostile enemies. You'll also be able to upgrade your character, customise various things, take on missions, and squad up with other players. Beware, though -- others won't always be on your side.
It's an interesting premise and it certainly seems like a robust game. What do you think of Memories of Mars? Will you brave this harsh new world on PS4? Cultivate potatoes in the comments below.

Even on a different planet...people are [expletive].
We just can't get away from the interwebs. LOL
Slightly interested in this game. Also, off topic but curious whether pushsquare will be reviewing Pathologic 2?
Any chance you can play this in split screen?
"Matt Damon Simulator" lmao.
Any chance you can play it alone offline (true single-player) ?
Looks like Subnautica on Mars.
Can we have a sci-fi game that's not war, alien monsters or survival?
Or if it has to deal with war or aliens can we move away from the Hollywood cliche of alien monsters or 'Murica fighting them ruskies and Chinese terrorists!
I'd kill for a video game set in The Expanse or a similar style of universe. Mass Effect 1-3 really nailed it too! (we don't talk about the ending of 3 or Andromeda)
@Heavyarms55 very true, the expanse would be a great blueprint for a game. Even more sombre sci-fi like the arrival or contact would be an interesting approach.
Usually we end up with starship troopers 😒
I'm hoping that this isn't an online only game. Looks like it could have an interesting single player story if done right.
