MMORPG Black Desert, which launched last year on PlayStation 4, will be getting cross-play functionality on the 4th March 2020. But unlike a lot of other titles that boast cross-play on Sony's system, this won't link PS4 users with PC players. Instead, it's hooking up PS4 with Xbox One, allowing users on both current-gen consoles to inhabit the same online world.
Do you play Black Desert? Cross swords with the other side in the comments section below.

It looks pretty enough but doesn't run too well and has some weird gameplay problems, like "why can't I walk anywhere"? Annoying when you're trying to talk to a quest NPC and you keep running by!
To be honest, ESO is still the best MMO on the PS4, even with the irritating and occasionally irksome changes by the devs. Still, let's see how that is once the forced client re-download happens in a few weeks! (10th March?)
Maybe I'll re download BD again at some point to see but it seems like a game not quite finished.
@sanderson72 I just playing last week enjoying a lot.. But the gameplay on pro is not great at all! They have to fix that otherwise...
I wish Blizzard would bring World of Warcraft Classic to consoles.
I’m an ESO addict and wanted to get into this game as well. I picked it up and tried it but for the life of me can’t figure out how it works. I have no clue what I’m doing other than mashing buttons and constantly fighting useless enemies. The game just doesn’t feel like it’s put together well. Then again, I hated ESO for years before it became the sole game I play so Black Desert’s got a shot.
This game is a pay-to-win piece of garbage.
@sanderson72 Strange how you spell "FF XIV" when talking about the best PS4 MMO
@IonMagus No, I tried FF XIV as you can play up to level 30 something for free (after that you have subscribe?)
Again, it was pretty enough and certainly ran smoother than BD but I had no idea what I was doing and where I was supposed to be going to do it half the time. The "map" is just plain confusing as there's no obvious "you're heading here" markers, even in the starting city. I just ended up running around and getting bored.
@sanderson72 Fair enough, I didnt mean it serious anyway I would like to play the Morrowind Expansion in ESO but sadly they dont have Cross-Play between console and PC and all my MMO friends are on PC. Thats the biggest turnoff for me honestly. FF14 had PC Crossplay since the PS3 Version so not sure why they dont do it for ESO
@Genrou Given the size of the market, I'm surprised Blizzard haven't ported this to XBone and PS4.
FFXIV remains the best MMO on PS4, in my opinion. Black Desert, ESO, Neverwinter and the likes are all enjoyable in their own way but none of them feel as solid as FFXIV. Heavensward remains one of the best Final Fantasy games I've played in years.
@IonMagus Perhaps I need to re download FF XIV again, take is slowly and see if I can work out what the heck is happening this time.
How DO you find out where you're supposed to be heading?
@sanderson72 Just open the Quest log and it will show you where you have to go on the map^^ Every quest is also visible on the map
