We've said it before and we'll say it again: there just doesn't seem to be much excitement surrounding Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The game's basically being billed as a sequel to Persona 5, but for whatever reason, there's a noticeable drop-off in terms of general interest. Perhaps we'll see more of a spike when Persona 5 Royal hits the West next month and Scramble gets more coverage.
If you're not sold on the upcoming action role-playing game, then we'd recommend watching the above trailer. At just under four minutes it does a decent job of going over what the title has to offer -- even if it is in Japanese.
What do you think of The Phantom Strikers? Are you looking forward to its eventual Western release, or are you struggling to feel the hype? Break down your thoughts in the comments section below.

I still think this looks great!
If the reviews are good I'll likely get it. I'm still skeptical since it's an Omega Force game, and I don't know that I need a direct sequel to a Persona game. A large part of the appeal to the current Persona games is meeting and becoming friends with the new cast. They clearly are respecting the social aspect of the series, but it all just feels off - it doesn't have that new, whiz bang appeal that 5 did when Atlus unveiled it. I hope it's awesome.
Just plug it into my veins! It looks just as stylish as P5 in terms of presentation, and the gameplay looks appealing to me. Very much looking forward to this.
I'm very impressed by how deeply this resembles a mainline Persona game (combat aside).
And, honestly, considering the supremely exploitable combat was the worst part of P5... this could be a really great move.
I'm quite partial to the occasional Musou game and this looks good. I'm in the minority here but P5 bored me to tears, this seems more like something I'll enjoy. Definitely has my interest.
Looks great, day one if the game is good
Game looks super good.
We need that western release date!
I'd buy it. It just isn't a pre-order for me
The problem that I have with this game is that it's an Atlus game meaning that I could be buying half a game and the rest is DLC and Royal edition later, so if I find it super cheap I'll buy it but not a full price
It's Persona,of course I'm excited!Looking forward to this a LOT more than Persona 5 Royal to be honest. Can't wait.
I'll play it because Persona, but I'm not excited for it at all. The gameplay style just doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather it was just Persona 5 2 if they wanted to do a sequel.
Honestly, part of the reason I like a game like Persona 5 is because it's NOT a game like Dynasty Warriors. I love the idea of a sequel to P5, but the genre switch is really putting me off this one.
Whens the PS4 demo coming? I played it a bit on the switch and yep it literally just feels like p5 musou. Still hyped for it though since I don't find musous necessarily bad just a bit repetitive. Also I want to check out the PS4 version since I'm getting that one.
@ShogunRok I'm more excited for this than I am P5R. I played the demo yesterday on Switch and many seem to be dismissing it as a Musuo game but from what I've played it was very much like playing P5 but with a different combat system and seems to be very much a sequel
Honestly, just seeing P5's art style expanded into so many new locations in Japan, is impressive enough already.
Getting the band back together doesn't always work out, but I have to admit: after several runs through the original P5, I always get a little wistful at the true ending. Sure, those kids do have their whole lives ahead of them, but...after all the events leading up to that, whatever can they do for an encore?
Well, if Scramble does indeed head West, we may find out. That it's an action RPG doesn't bother me: Skyrim and DA:I are my comfort food, so I can adjust, I'm sure.
