Wow, 2019 just flew by, huh? Lots of incredible games released, and brought amazing music with them. And looking ahead, we have many more reasons to be excited. The new decade brings with it a new console generation, but not before the PS4 has one last hurrah. Let’s check out the best new PlayStation music of January!

Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition

A truly astounding, wholly unique experience, Kentucky Route Zero also happens to have an incredible soundtrack. A unique blend of ambient synth and sombre folk music, composer Ben Babbitt has crafted a score that is more than up to the task of equalling the lofty ambitions of the title itself. One particular moment in Act 3 that is fuelled almost entirely by the music is up there for the greatest gaming moments of all time.

Journey to the Savage Planet

A quirky, fun – especially in co-op – experience from developer Typhoon Studios, strap on your space suit, and rock out to some tunes. With a soundtrack equally as colourful and fun as the game itself, this “space cowboy” soundtrack has a bit of a southern twang mixed in with the cheeriness.

Patapon 2 Remastered

Pata-pata-patapon! Just try and not get this game’s music stuck in your head. It’s impossible! Packed with exuberant, high-energy, endlessly charming music, Patapon 2 Remastered has a delightful soundtrack. The only real danger with listening to the music of Patapon 2 Remastered is that it might get too stuck in your head.

And that’s all we have for January of 2020. A relatively low-key month for releases, but keep your eyes peeled, because things are going to start heating up very quickly.
