A few months ago, Nintendo fans tossed their amiibo out of the pram when a Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild-inspired title was announced for the PlayStation 4. One particular player was so peeved by the existence of Genshin Impact that he smashed up Sony’s system in protest; others gathered at the Japanese giant’s ChinaJoy booth raising their middle fingers.
Well now the release has been confirmed for the Switch, with a launch date yet to be announced. While the title’s similarities to Zelda are plain to see, it’s all a bit awkward really – we suspect that no Nintendo consoles will be destroyed in response to this news. Nevertheless, this should douse some of the initial negativity – let’s hope everyone has calmed down.

What got me is that despite having a similar art style to Breath of the Wild, the games aren't really comparable. Really weird thing to cry about in the first place.
Ha, Nintendo fans can be such idiots sometimes.
"Nintendo fans tossed their amiibo out of the pram"
Hypocrisy incoming....
I can think of more important things to get upset about.............anyway back to C.O.D.
Well ain't that a kick in the head xD
Sooo
Is someone going to smash their Switch in protest?
Not me, I like my electronics.
An innocent PS4 unit died for this.
I finally watched the trailer yesterday.
All I saw was a mixture of Ni No Kuni's world inhabited by the characters from Draglia Lost w/ that games music playing so I'm nto even sure what they were eon about in the first place. BotW wasn't even a Zelda game, it was just cel-shaded Skyrim but w/ less to do. More fun, but less inhabited.
@YozenFroghurt or with many things going on in their lives, hence their reaction.
Real life will not be kind to these people. But today you can smash a console and make enough money on Youtube but buy many more.
We have to break our Nintendo Switch’s now because Nintendo allowed this game on their platform. It’s only way. This will teach him, who’s with me? 👊🏾
@swagbag713 I feel sorry for you. 😉
The world is a cesspool of horrendous going ons and people but this game right here takes the cake! Imma go smash my ps4 now. Looking forward to smashing my ps5 when it comes out
@Col_McCafferty sometimes...
Let me guess, they love the game now lol
To be fair, it was an infinitesimally small number of Nintendo fans that were irate about this. The majority are looking forward to playing it on Switch (based on the comments on Nintendo Life)
@Col_McCafferty so can PlayStation fans.
Ha, a couple of guys moan and show middle finger about this game... "Nintendo fans irate!!"
Pre ordering a ps5 now so I can smash it day 1. Can't wait. 😂😂
God, this article...I don't even know where to begin with this.
Maybe that I expect this kind of crap from NL, and not PS? C'mon Sammy, you can do way better than this and you know.
This is one of those shameless articles meant to trigger rabid fanboys and pit them against other fanboys.
I thought the "console war" days pf mocking Nintendo fans and banning people for mentioning "rival" consoles were over, to be honest.
PS has become such a better place since then.
Please please please don't become another click-bait, rage-mongering outlet like your sister site, PS. Please, you're better than that.
Ok. Cool story. But when is it out on PS4?
@Col_McCafferty Except Sony fans do it too like the review bombing of Astral Chain...
https://gamerant.com/astral-chain-review-bomb-metacritic/
The problem with this PushSquare article is that it highlights the issue as "Nintendo Fans" only, but over at Nintendo Life, it was highlighted as Nintendo fans in China.
Interesting given both sites share office space and they're the ones having a laugh at the non-conversation they expect to erupt here.
Wow. Grown adults.... grown adults, people.
Really pathetic to engage in console wars.
