The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt PS4 PlayStation 4 1

Netflix’s massively successful adaptation of The Witcher propelled CD Projekt RED’s epic role-playing game up the PlayStation Store sales charts for December 2019, where it finished 7th and 11th in North America and Europe respectively. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ruled supreme in the US, while the Old World plumped up for familiar favourite Grand Theft Auto V.

Holiday promotions definitely had an impact on the positioning of some titles, as Tekken 7 secured 4th place in Europe, above even Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Meanwhile, survival game The Forest made a shock reappearance in both regions, perhaps on the back of its sequel’s announcement during The Game Awards.

Unsurprisingly, Beat Saber continues to rule the roost in the PSVR charts, while Fortnite dominates both the free-to-play and DLC lists.
