Babylon's Fall, an action title from the specialists at Platinum Games, was first announced back at E3 2018, and we've heard very little about the project since -- until now, that is. The title received a gameplay trailer during Sony's latest State of Play broadcast, and it looks pretty darn promising. It clearly boasts the developer's trademark over-the-top combat style, and we're intrigued by the setting.
Sadly, it seems as though we're going to have to wait a while before learning more. Additional information is apparently heading our way in summer 2020 -- so perhaps at E3? The timing also makes us wonder whether Babylon's Fall will end up being a PlayStation 5 game, or perhaps a cross-gen release. We'll have to wait and see.

most likely a cross gen release if info is that far away still.
but the game looks good! not what i expected it to be since i thought it would be more of a rpg instead of a hack and slasher but than again we did not see the rest of the game's mechanics yet.
I think this might have been the secret star of the latest State of Play. The gameplay already looks fantastic.
Looks great!
What is with Platinum Games and Blue/Red?
Bayonetta, Astral Chain, now Babylon's Fall all have this blue/red theme.
Bayonetta is Angels (Blue) and Demons (Red). Astral Chain is Legion (Blue) and Chimera (Red). This game looks like enemies (Blue) and hero (Red).
I guess to a certain degree Wonderful 101 had the theme, as well; but really it's just the bickering between Wonder Red and Wonder Blue.
Looks very good!
Depending on the difficulty spike I'll decide if I want it or not.
I definitely like a good challenge but games like Bloodborne or Demon Souls just aren't for me. Really loved BB's art style and put a good amount of hours into it but the boss fights were just ridiculously tough.
Let's wait and see how this ends up...
Can’t go wrong with games made by Platinum. I’m sold.

This trailer doesnt look fantastic but I'm sure the final product or the next trailer will be the one to blow me away. I never doubted Platinum. Especially with their new IPs
I do normally really like Platinum games, and this could potentially be another excellent game for them.
Best thing in the showcase, looks amazing. Shame it's been so long since the info, and we still have to wait a while for actual info.
it looks trash
like a small budget game
with no appeal at all
@playstation1995
I been playing since '92 and I had my fair share of frustrations over the years. Some consoles and controllers didn't live to tell the tale. I've grown older and that kinda frustrations is done with. By the way, I got 5 kids and a cussing dad late in the evening isn't cool.
Anyway, each gamer has their preferences for certain games. And getting good doesn't have to be issue, you also have to enjoy what you play. And games with those kinda difficulty spikes takes away the fun, thus I avoid them. Let's be frank, it's not that we lack any other options for games we can play 😉 word up
Babylons fall would've been so much better as a historical reenactment of Babylons fall. Imagine first the fall of military embattlement Dur Shurrukin the last stronghold of the Assyrians to finally end that glorious empire, and then, the final link to Sumerian culture ends it's 2700+ year existence as the Medes and Persians turn on the desperate Babylonians!!! Instead its a hack n slash set in a fantasy world.
This isn't really my thing but I hope there's a demo. I would have skipped Nier Automata if I hadn't played its demo.
@GamingFan4Lyf Japan generally ascribes deeper meanings to colours. So you'll see a lot of blue and red when designers want to get certain points across to a Japanese audience. For example, Dante in DMC wears red, while Nero and Vergil wear blue. There's also the fact that in general blue and red are considered opposing colours. Hot-blooded and emotional protagonists usually have some red in their designs.
Gameplay-wise it also helps differentiating between your character and the chaos around it in an action scene. If your character is associated with red, it would be ingrained into you that red sparks and special effects indicated that you ddid whatever move that's on the screen, and blue special effects would mean it's the enemy.
Either way I'm looking forward to more news. They seem to be slowly developing the title and the recent trailer was just to show that it's not dead and announce that there'll be more news next year. I really hope there's some sort of character creator or similar.
