Update: Blizzard has confirmed that Overwatch 2 is in development for PS4, but the developer has "no idea" when it'll actually release. We think you can probably put this one down as a cross-gen PS5 title.

Original story: Yep, Overwatch 2 is real, as evidenced by the rather brilliant cinematic reveal trailer that we've embedded above. Announced at BlizzCon 2019, the sequel to one of the world's most popular team-based shooters is adding quite a lot to the overall package. For starters, it's going to have full story missions as part of a campaign, and "highly replayable" co-op missions where you'll level up your heroes and unlock new abilities and perks.

There'll be new player versus player modes as well. You can get a brief overview of everything that was talked about via the gameplay trailer below.

No release date or release window has been given for Overwatch 2, and at the time of writing, we can't find confirmation of platforms. We assume that it's coming to PlayStation 4, but we'll update this article as soon as we know for sure.
