The early 2020 release dates just keep on coming. Adding to what is already an absolutely packed month, Koei Tecmo's Fairy Tail role-playing game is set to launch on the 19th March.
If you haven't been keeping up, Fairy Tail is a turn based adventure that's tied to the popular anime and manga property. It's being developed by Gust, the studio behind the Atelier series and other similarly colourful RPGs.

i love Fairy Tail but i'm sorry with FFVII Remake coming in march i won't be playing anything else
@FullbringIchigo I'll be getting this and FF VII Remake as my birthday presents on April 2nd. That said I'll probably focus on FF VII Remake until I beat it, much like you.
@FullbringIchigo Also I feel bad that Trials of Mana will have to wait, but we gotta show love for the Fairy Tail JRPG. Who knows, if it sells well enough, maybe the creator & Funimation might decide to resume the anime and aire the final story arc, whether it's a movie, OVA, or a short 12-13 episode one-off season?
@TowaHerschel7 actually they already did the final arc, it's on funimation now
now as for if that gets a DVD releasing in the UK is another story as the licence over here is up in the air right now as funimation brought MangaUK but they had previously sub-licenced it to All the Anime
I love Fairy tail and the game actually looks nice. Might have to get this day one.
As garbage as fairy tail is as a story, I always thought it'd work great as a game. But the more I see of this, the more it looks terrible even for a gust game. It looks extremely generic even for a JRPG. With FF7 and Trials of Mana coming, I'd rather invest time and money in those especially the Mana series since it was practically a great dead series before all the remakes and the collection happened.
It looks a bit eh so far. Further developed the combat might be better, but I see it being it overly simple and the story being “you’ve watched the show right?”
Looks great busy year next year. 😉
@FullbringIchigo Actually no they didn't. The anime ended at the end of the Alvarez War arc while the manga continued on into the 100 Year Quest arc where the gang take on a quest that is expected to take them 100 years to accomplish. 😉
@Flaming_Kaiser I see you're a fellow Kindle user based on your Kindle wink emoji you placed at the end of your message! 😏
@TowaHerschel7 Nope a Sony mobile user but no problem nice de too meet you. 😁
@TowaHerschel7 actually that's a sequel Manga and while Mashima is working on the story it's actually been drawn by another artist
saying it's not done is like saying DBZ isn't finished because we have DB Super
it's kind of like the Naruto/Boruto series or the Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Super series, yes it's a continuation but it's also a separate thing, the original Fairy Tail is done and Mashima is now doing a new Manga called Edens Zero and his upcoming Fairy Tail/Edens Zero/Rave Master cross over series
as for if it will ever be animated well that's all down to TV Tokyo and A-1 Pictures but given the troubled history of Fairy Tails production i wouldn't get my hopes up if i was you, we was lucky to get the main series finished
