Update: Free-to-play team-based title Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 is out now on PS4 in North America and Europe. It's around 13GB in size.
Original story: Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 was confirmed for a Western release back in July, and now, as it turns out, it's actually launching tomorrow on PlayStation 4. That's the 1st October, in case you're reading this at a later date.
So what is Battle Operation 2? Well, it's a free-to-play, team-based title that features both on-foot infantry combat and mobile suit carnage. The hook is that you get to research and develop new suits and suit parts with points gained through combat. We assume this is where microtransactions also come into the equation.
In any case, it might be worth a shot if you're a Gundam fanatic. Think you'll be giving Battle Operation 2 a shot? Become an ace pilot in the comments section below.

Too bad this doesn't have a PvE mode, but there's something silly about ejecting from your busted Mobile Suit to then be stepped on by another, so the PvP is pretty unique in that aspect.
@Broosh What you described sounds exactly like Titanfall... and now I'm going to play Titanfall 2 again!
@Olmaz Similar, though the scale is quite different when your pilot is smaller than the mecha's foot lol
I love me some Gundam, so I will definitely be on it.
I hope this game is good. I've watched some YouTube videos on this game, and titanfall looks better. At least this is free.
Very glad my data carried over despite me downloading this game off of the Asia psn store!
I stinking LOVE Gundam, my all time favorite anime franchise! (As if my username didn't give that away!)
But the f2p mechanics are a serious turn off...
And now my comment is outdated, PvE patched in! It just earned a redownload on my console.
