If you're talking to a bunch of people in their mid-twenties who only have a very vague, passing interest in video games, it's never too long before The Simpsons: Hit & Run is brought up. The PS2 classic has stood the test of time thanks to becoming a childhood memory for many, and while a full remake is probably never going to happen, the game's original producer certainly seems on board with the idea.
Speaking to LADbible, Vlad Ceraldi said: "I could see it on multiple different types of platforms as a remake or remaster. It would have to take the parties who are in charge of the property to want that to happen and someone out there to decide that they were going to go out and do it. But absolutely, it would be fun to explore those characters and that universe again, that work again."
It's going to take rather a lot of work to get this project up and running because as the interview states, the prospect is discussed "usually at the pub", but it's nice to know that the game's original producer would back a remake if the chance ever arose.

It was A-MAZING!!! But come on, make a sequal. Enough with beating dead horses its time to move forward.
If it happens: Woo hoo!
If it doesn't happen: D'oh!
Would love Road Rage, too. Doubt it’ll ever happen, sadly. We need Simpsons games to make a comeback.
One of the good Simpsons games out there. Played a lot of Simpsons games over the years but this and the Konami Arcade game were the games I enjoyed. The ones on Genesis and SNES with Virtual Bart and the other game where Bart is having a nightmare are hard for me to go back to though.
It seems EA is only focused on that Tapped Out mobile game at the moment. I admit I played that for a good while but a sequel to Hit and Run or even a remake would be nice.
Yes please. I have so many fond memories of playing Hit and Run on my Cube, changing the date to see Homer in different outfits was mind blowing at the time.
I never played Hit and Run. I've seen gameplay of it, and it looks like fun, but never actually sat down and played it.
Maybe I should one day.
How that guy can get permission to get it made: "We can make lots of money with lootboxes opening up the other characters"
Done.
@Deadlyblack Same here I've never played Hit and Run or Road Rage, but I want to try them out badly!
Best Simpsons game ever. They really captured the feel of the show really well. Hopefully Disney will let someone remake it.
Loved it on the GameCube. I'd love a sequel or at least an updated remake.
Seems to be alot of noise around this at the moment online. Not the first time i have seen devs talk aboit wanting to remake it this year. Lets hope they do.
I wonder if they would be able to make it without significant changes given characters like Apu have been removed feom the show (assuming he features heavily in this? I only played this briefly back in the day, but loved what i played)
If it it discussed "at the pub" then it has to be a good idea.
No joke, I would pay £60 for a remaster of Hit & Run on PS4. I want that platinum.
I'd pay £80 for a Scarface remaster lol
I'd definitely be up for this. It wasn't perfect, but I had a blast playing Hit and Run.
@Rob_230 It's so sad they binned him off. Apu was one of the most well developed, least 2-dimensional side characters in the show
@ralphdibny Agreed!!
Would be pointless to make another Simpsons game. It's been going downhill since about season 9. Hit and run came at a decent time.
@Rob_230 @ralphdibny Apu hasn’t been written out of the show.
Sadly because its EA it will likely never happen. They can't force microtransactions or a DLC pass onto it. So they will show no interest which is why NFS Underground 2 and MOH Frontline remakes will also never see light of day
About the Simpson arcade game on ps4 also.that game was fun.word up son
@SoulChimera Oh yeah fair enough, quotes flew around at the time of the controversy. Not really sure what the outcome was...
Yes please! This was a great game. Maybe at least get it onto PlayStation Now?
Great game, it was a lot of fun and did an excellent job of capturing the tone and the humour of the show. Also it's the very first game I ever played on a PlayStation console.
This would be awesome if it finally happens
@Rob_230 Apu did feature quite heavily, he was even a playable character.
Yes please, spent far too long knocking people over just enough to not get the police to come after me. Says more about me tbh hahaha xx
Let's have a remaster of Simpsons Wrestling while you're at it.
Haha, just kidding.
@shonenjump86 The Barts Nightmare was awsome never came close too finishing it though. 😆
Great game and a childhood favourite.
