It seems that the recent rumours surrounding The House of the Dead are true. Word on the street is that the first two titles in the legendary light gun arcade series will be making a return on modern machines. Today, developer Forever Entertainment has confirmed it's signed a deal to produce these remakes.
It looks as though this is still in the very early stages. Unfortunately, that means we don't have confirmation of a PlayStation 4 release, but it's certainly not out of the question. We imagine this won't emerge fully for quite some time, but at least House of the Dead fans know they have something to look forward to.
Are you pleased to hear about the return of House of the Dead? Fend off the horde in the comments below.
House Of The Dead 2 gave us the single greatest line of voice acting in video gaming!
Played the heck out of it on the Wii and at arcades. Never seen the original though anywhere and would love to play it!
Make a VR mode which could just be a giant arcade cabinet and let us use the move controllers
If they can release games from the Dreamcast like this then someone needs to get there head out of the jaxy and give me re release or remaster of Skies of Arcadia Legends maybe just up date the sound to it. I'd kill to replay that game again
Seems a rather pointless endeavour with no light gun system.
Playing HOTD Overkill with a Move on ps3 was never less than a pain in the arse.
I have very high hopes for the Sinden Light Gun (look in to it, he's very clever!) project, but I'd even welcome another G'Con3 infrared set up at this point.
I mean, PSVR with aim support seems like a no brainer right?
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy I'm watching my sons play Astral Chain co-op at night (a game that should have never been given co-op) and I'm convinced they based the lead voice actor and soon-to-be-villain on Goldman from HotD. Everybody else speaks normally but that one guy is just so strange. One of the main villain women comes across as Parasite Eve, she's interesting as well. Strange game.
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Signed in just to upvote this. Guess my friends and I weren’t the only ones to recite the lines to each other years after playing on Dreamcast
“I’ve already taken care of G”
I only showed up to say what I always say.
Put it in VR & I'm totally down.
@Rob_230 and yet I bet they won't do it I bet, this game will be useless with out any move or psvr support.
@carlos82 I know. VR with and without the cabinet is perfect for these games. I don’t know why we haven’t seen any.
Gun support? I’m interested if the games support ps4 gun, although I don’t think ps4 has gun accessories.
Omg yes 👌🏻I love the house of the dead games 3 was always my favourite I've been wanting a vr house of the dead for years it would be perfect for vr hopefully it'll be something they'll consider , time crisis would also be great for vr
