We've actually known about Sonic's cameo appearance in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD for a while now. A few weeks ago, some trophy descriptions let slip that the blue blur would be joining AiAi and friends in the remastered Wii title, and now, SEGA has confirmed its mascot will be an unlockable character.

Sonic will of course have his own stats (max speed obvs), and bananas will be traded out for golden rings when you play as the hedgehog. Additionally, you'll be able to unlock alternate costumes for the rest of the cast. You can get a brief peek at all this in the short trailer above.
