Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been under fire recently for its PlayStation 4 exclusive Survival mode, but it sounds like Special Ops is going to be much bigger than that. Activision has blown the lid off the co-op branch of its upcoming FPS, revealing all kinds of new details.

When the main single player campaign concludes, you can continue the story in Spec Ops with 4-player cooperative Operations. It seems that these will be set in large maps, and it'll be up to you and your squad mates to decide how to tackle each situation. With a variety of vehicles to utilise and multiplayer's Killstreaks migrating to the mode, you'll have plenty of options. In addition to Operations are Missions, which are less open ended and are more a test of skill and speed. These sound more like the Spec Ops missions you might remember from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PS3.

Before you're dropped into a Spec Ops level, you'll need to pick a Role, such as Assault, Engineer, or Medic. These Roles all have their own Field Upgrades and perks. Completing Operations and Missions will result in rewards you can carry over to competitive multiplayer. Equally, any equipment, operators, or loadouts you've unlocked in multiplayer can be used in Spec Ops.

It all sounds pretty decent to us. What do you think of Special Ops in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PS4? Ready up in the comments below.
