Bungie Destiny

Ever since leaving Microsoft's first-party line-up, Bungie has been committed to the multi-platform world of Destiny. It entered the looter shooter genre in partnership with Activision, but since splitting ties with the publisher, the team has been talking a big game in regards to its current sci-fi franchise and what the future holds for the developer. Now, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons has stated that the studio plans on launching another new IP by the year 2025.

Speaking with IGN, Parsons said: “I think the long-term vision of Bungie would be, we have worlds like Destiny that are great places to go and build friendships in. And we begin to introduce new worlds that people care a lot about.” He goes on to say that Bungie has a specific path it wants to go down in regards to transforming the Destiny series and making sure it has other franchises available on the market.

This is all supposed to be achieved within the next six years, with Pete Parsons saying "Our vision ultimately through 2025 is to become one of the world’s best entertainment companies." The new IP could be developed with the help of NetEase, who purchased a $100 million minority stake in Bungie in early 2018. We'll probably all be playing on our PS5 Pros by the time it rolls around, but consider us interested in what this brand new series could be.
