Oh wow, it's finally happened. Insomniac Games -- the developer behind the Ratchet & Clank series as well as Marvel's Spider-Man -- has long maintained a close relationship with Sony, but the studio has always valued its independence. As such, the thought of Sony snapping the developer up has been a consistent talking point, but actual acquisition always seemed just out of reach.
That's all changed now, however. Sony has announced that it's adding Insomniac Games to its roster of PlayStation Worldwide Studios, meaning that the two companies have come to an agreement. Insomnaic Games joins the likes of Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica Studio, and Sucker Punch in making PlayStation exclusive titles.
With Marvel's Spider-Man 2 an inevitability, this is pretty huge news -- and a story that's been in the making for what seems like an age.
