In perhaps the strangest collaboration of the generation, Devolver Digital is about to publish From Software's obscure Japanese shooter, Metal Wolf Chaos XD, on PlayStation 4. Appearing in the West for the first time, this updated version of the game has updated visuals, enhanced controls, and a new save system. It also has a bonkers story, and the above trailer sets it up in a nicely animated short.
In a nut shell, you play as the US President Michael Wilson as he defends the nation against a rebellion force led by none other than Richard Hawk -- the Vice President. It's ridiculous, but looks to be pretty entertaining. If you're after a janky mech action game with a mad story, Metal Wolf Chaos XD is out tomorrow.
What do you think of this new trailer? Are you excited to play the game? Mech some noise in the comments below.

Still surprised this is finally coming Westward. From what I've read, the developers were actually concerned it'd offend Americans at the time!
I love goofy stuff like this. I kind of wish From Software would give the grimdark Souls-esque games a rest for a while and make another ridiculous mech game.
That animated short was pretty great, too. The game's hilariously stilted English dialogue translates to that format pretty well.
No no no, dude. You're not doing it right.
It's more like, "RI-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAARD!!"
You need to pause half a sec before the 'chard', y'know?
Can we expect a Push Square review?
@snakemake Yes!
What about a physical release for EU? It's supposed to be a Best Buy exclusive, but I don't have those around anywhere.
It's nice to see an original Xbox title. It's also nice that they decided to keep the original graphics as well.
