There's been a massive info dump for upcoming fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus. The highlight here is that alongside all of the usual game modes that you'd expect -- arcade mode, versus, practice, and online -- there's going to be a full-blown 'RPG Mode', which you can see in action via the above trailer. RPG Mode offers an original story based in the Granblue Fantasy universe, side-scrolling, beat-'em-up style gameplay with all kinds of enemies, dialogue scenes in English or Japanese, character progression, and all sorts of other stuff. It also has quests which can be played alone or with a friend in co-op (local and online).

Sounds great, right? Unfortunately, there's another detail that's got onlookers a little peeved. The game's official website seems to suggest that there'll only be 11 playable characters in Granblue Fantasy Versus at launch, with three of them yet to be revealed. Knowing Arc System Works, we're sure that all 11 fighters will be great fun to learn and use, but that's still a decidedly small roster.

In any case, we're still looking forward to Versus. It's due to release in Japan on the 6th February 2020, which obviously means that it's been delayed out of its initial 2019 release window. Hopefully we get a confirmed Western date soon.
