Marvel’s Iron Man VR is looking really rather impressive. The upcoming PlayStation VR exclusive – which is being published by Sony and developed by Camouflaj – sees you take control of the titular Avenger in a brand new first-person campaign controlled using the PS Move wands. In this gameplay footage – which starts at 1:06 in the embedded stream – we can see how intuitive Tony Stark is to pilot, as you steer using each motion controller independently.
The thing that’s particularly impressive about this footage is how good the tracking appears to be. A lot of PSVR games are designed around the player facing the camera directly, but here the headset wearer turns completely away from the setup and the detection doesn’t flinch. We’re not sure what kind of black magic Camouflaj is employing here, but it has been working on the title for a number of years, and it shows.

If I had a PSVR I’d probably get this.
Is this faked? He is moving so slow in all his movements it is as if he Is trying to match pre recorded video.
Watch at 1:11. Right after he holds his hands above his head. He lifts his hand up and a second later it goes up on the screen.(had to watch with no sound so don't know if they mention delay)
@Gumbopudding Why would it be faked when press have played the exact same demo?
There’s probably some lag between the console and the giant display.
@get2sammyb just saying it just felt off. Every movement seem very slow and deliberate. I've seen people play psvr games and nobody moves the controller that slow the whole time.
@Gumbopudding Games are typically played slower during demonstrations, so I guess that would be why.
PSVR continues its dominance unabated.
Ok so I was able to look at the vid on the big screen, with sound unfortunately. I take back the fake playing along a vid though. It is being played live.
However something is still off. The delay is not constant. Sometimes it has that half second delay and sometimes it's right on time. It's now looking like they are having tracking issues. So nice slow movements are used to avoid major tracking issues. Considering it is not ready yet it can be expected to have issues like that still than need to be worked out. So figuring the slow movement is to hide that.
@Gumbopudding it could just be the setup with the video to the big screen. Also, don’t forget, the social screen doesn’t represent the level of quality the actual player can see. It could just be a mix of the two.
Did he have a wireless headset?? I didn’t see any wire problems! He turned right around as well. Maybe somebody is holding the wire out of the way. I need one of those people 😂
This looks really good. Couldn't care less if this is Iron Man or whoever else, the gameplay just looks fun. I will wait for reviews, though.
