Blimey, guvnor! It's only gone and bloody done it. Blood & Truth, London Studio's explosive PlayStation VR exclusive action game, has made it to the very top of the UK physical chart. According to GamesIndustry, it's the first VR-only game to achieve this feat, likely thanks to a combination of strong marketing and launching at a quiet time in the year. However you slice it, Sony must be dead chuffed with that result.
FIFA 19 gave it a good run for its money, though. It's back in second place following the Champions League final, selling just 400 copies fewer than the PSVR cockney crime drama. Team Sonic Racing still manages a podium finish too, finishing at number three.
Aside from Cricket 19: Official Game of The Ashes debuting in sixth, the rest of the top 10 is about what you'd expect. The early part of June is looking pretty light on new releases, so we imagine the chart won't be changing all that much for the next week or two.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 1st June, 2019
- Blood & Truth
- FIFA 19
- Team Sonic Racing
- Days Gone
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Cricket 19: Official Game of The Ashes
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Forza Horizon 4
- Mortal Kombat 11

A very good sign for Vr going forward
Strong British innovation again is always welcomed. Not a cockney but this is almost making buy the VR.
I just actually laughed out loud when I saw GTA V still sitting there.
@BowTiesAreCool We will never be free
@BowTiesAreCool best franchise ever.and gta 5 is legendary.like the late great biggie smalls once say.if you don't know.now you know.hahaha.π.word up son
Congrats to sony, not only blood and truth place number one, bit days gone still on the chart too while mk11 already gone from it π
@BowTiesAreCool It will be replaced by gta v re-remaster on ps5 π
Excellent game. Well deserving of the top spot.
Games amazing. And what an accomplishment
I'm supprised the cricket game didn't focus on the cricket World Cup current on.
Well deserved and I'm having a great time with this one, there's nothing better than spinning your gun on your finger before shooting someone in the face whilst gesturing with your other hand π
Really goes to show what is possible in VR with a bigger budget and hopefully se get room space next gen as this would be unbelievable with that as well. Arguably my favourite game this year so far or at least up there with RE2 with Days Gone just behind and one of the very best VR games available
Don't think I ever could have imagined a new IP game for VR in first place. I could imagine if it was a new series game like Madden or Fifa adding VR but not something like this. Congrats to them, seems like a really big deal.
@BowTiesAreCool I also laughed too, GTAV like: What? I'm still here what'd you think? I ain't going nowhere.
@playstation1995 straight up son. You know you're in denial if you refuse to acknowledge GTAV as legendary.
@TheArt Guess im in denial never liked GTA. π
Nice to see a VR game on top and to all the people saying VR failed. You are wrong.
This part is not directed to TheArt BTW. π
@TheArt best franchise ever I love me some gta.i wish we get a new grand theft auto games every year or once every 2 or 3 years.word up to the art son
My VR wishlist is starting to pile up. I need to start getting some of these.
@Flaming_Kaiser love my PSVR and this game is great, I'm gonna need a hard drive just for VR at this rate as I've got 17 VR titles currently installed and want another 5 or 6 at least
@Flaming_Kaiser That and RDR2 will remain in top 10 just to spite you π
@carlos82 how do you manage to play all those games man...Have you finished AC Odyssey? Cause I'm 64hrs in and still no end in sight
@TheArt to be fair most VR titles are generally far shorter games but incredibly fun to play. I've kind of bounced off Assassin's Creed Odyssey at the moment, great game but I think it's too big if I'm honest. I have beaten 3 of the cult leaders I believe and been to most of the areas on the map, probably about 80 hours altogether and that's enough for me for now
@carlos82 π AC Odyssey is just too much sometimes but it's fun. Ubisoft games are great it's just they're too many.
@TheArt Still dont like it. π π
@carlos82 Thats great i dont own VR but i love it to hear people that have so much fun with it. And it annoys that some people somehow want it to fail.
And for GTA and RDR i just dont like them. Dont like cowboys and if you play one GTA you played them all. I loved GTA Vice City but that was the 80's i love everything from the 80's. π
VR is something special and maybe in the future i will own one when i have the funds and the room for it. π
@carlos82 Nice! How is the nausea factor on this one and are move controllers required?
@invictus4000 not too bad, generally speaking you're only ever moving forward with a bit of strafing, but it's all to fixed positions and other than the first night I played I've had no ill effects. You can use the dualshock, I haven't personally but assuming it's like London Heist it just means you'll have one hand in the game and as always games designed for the move controllers play a lot better and more naturally with them. I'd highly recommend getting them at some point as they make a huge difference and some games require them.
If I have one criticism it's that the game wants you to be sat down whilst I prefer to stand for these games, this can be an issue as the game automatically crouches behind cover meaning I can't stand up in the game as I already am in the real world. Also it seems to be pretty unreliable when trying to throw items, more than any VR game I can think of, these are nit picks though and more a limitation of the technology at the moment, overall the game is fantastic and responsive.
If I had a Pro i be all over this. Enough games now where it is worth $250 to me.
But my launch PS4 probably cant handle VR all that well. PS5 is the next chance for me.
@carlos82 hey, thanks for the info you posted . Quick Question - are you playing on a PRO or regular PS4?
@Agramonte I have the PRO, I've only got vague memories of what it was like on the standard PS4 but I've never had any performance issues or stuttering on the PRO which I seem to remember occasionally happening on the og. Also Astro Bot looks significantly better than all of the early VR games and I think that takes advantage of the PRO's capabilities more so than many games
@carlos82 oh ok, thanks. The PSVR I was looking at was the one with AstroBot - it is One of the VR games on my list.
That is one of my favourite games in years VR or not, you'll have a great time
