Patch 1.21 for Days Gone is available to download now on PlayStation 4, and it weighs in at a rather large 18.5GB. This one's actually a pretty big deal, too, as it adds weekly DLC challenges to the open world title. The first is named 'Surrounded', and it tasks you with surviving for as long as you can against an endless horde of freakers. Do well enough, and you can earn rewards like new characters, accents, and rings. Sounds pretty interesting. The challenges will also come with their own Trophies.
On top of that, the update fixes a few annoying little issues that players have been keen to point out. For starters, picking up weapons off the ground is now mapped to the triangle button, which is a more than welcome tweak. You can find the full patch notes below.

It started as a 6/10 for me, than after a few patches jumped to 8/10. Now with weekly challenges to keep me playing for a bit longer, 9/10.
Bought it on days of play sales, played maybe one hour, I want to finish bloodstained first.
I just platinumed the game last night on my first play through on hard difficulty. Looking forward to playing through on survival difficulty and doing challenge mode too!
I like what they are doing with these challenges, it's a good way to keep people playing for longer. I wonder if it has online league tables for high-scores?
So glad they changed the button for picking up weapons. It was sooooooo annoying when you wanted to search someone, only to accidentally end up swapping your weapon. It’s only a little thing, but ever so welcome.
at this point they pretty much replaced all the content on the disc with patches...so your physical disc is pretty much worthless.
Have just booted the game up, and after only half hour’s play I’ve had 2 stuttering issues. One where the image froze for about 5 seconds, then resumed. Looks like this patch may have broke a few things as well ☹️
I still haven't finished the story yet (got a little tired of it so taking a break) but it's awesome that they're supporting it like this.
@manu0 it's the same with a lot of games now unfortunately. There are good and bad sides to it
I picked up World War Z in the Days of Play sale.
I definitely enjoy that a lot more.
I really wish I would have waited for Days Gone to be smoothed out before spending $60 on it. I'll probably never go back to it. I don't feel like I'm missing much except 30 - 40 hours of my life and $60.
Surrounded sounds like my kind of thing. Too bad I've moved on though. I'll pick it back up at some point and check out the new stuff.
@seanobi I agree with those criticisms but you didn't mention any positives. There are things that the game does well also.
